MY FORGETTER!

My forgetter's getting better
But my rememberer is broke
To you that may seem funny
But, to me, that is no joke

For when I'm "here" I'm wondering
If I really should be "there"
And, when I try to think it through,
I haven't got a prayer!

Oft times I walk into a room,
Say "what am I here for?"
I wrack my brain, but all in vain
A zero, is my score.

At times I put something away
Where it is safe, but, Gee!
The person it is safest from
Is, generally, me!

When shopping I may see someone,
Say "Hi" and have a chat,
Then, when the person walks away
I ask myself, "who was that?"

Yes, my forgetter's getting better
While my rememberer is broke,
And it's driving me plumb crazy
And that isn't any joke.

Just a little something I thought I'd share. Gladly it the memory going first, at least as far as I know...

for some but my wife bought one(to save $)and our printer
didn't work right until we got one of the commercial cartridges.

The "Best"holliday that is coming up is"St. Patricks Day!"
Oh;I forgot that I don't get a decanter of"Tullimore Dew"that is
made in Dublin;anymore.
P.S.Some of the biggest assholes that I ever met were in the
Irish Club.My cousin was after me fot years to go to the one in
New Haven,Conn.I'm proud of my heritage; but you still have to
take each person independantly.Tullimore Dew is Irish whiskey!
Tastes like scotch to me.I always liked inexpensive whiskeys.Like
Flieshmans.(90proof)Wild Turkey if someone else was buying!

St. Patrick’s Day isn’t a holiday, It’s THE HIGH HOLLY! A magical day,……that can last from one day, up to two weeks. Had an old acquaintance named Kilbain, who made it last until Memorial Day one year (May 30th for Downunderers). Guess what he died of?

"Tullimore Dew"- Didn’t think anybody else in the world knew of the Gaelic Gasoline. They have to put it in that small gray crock. It eats threw glass. Was always told they only make three crocks a year and raffle them off. Winner gets one to himself. Second place gets the other two.:redghost:

"Wild Turkey" ............................aaa the memories. (or are those flash backs)

pantyfanatic---Did you ever notice that on St. Patricks day;every-
one claims to be irish?I used to get mad because even as a drinker;I always hated drunks. There is a BIG difference between
an Alcoholic and a drunk.Remember the old joke where people
said"I didn't know that you drank that much;until I saw you sober."That actually happened to me. Irish

scotzoidman---I started going to those meetings because the law
told me that I had to.I also had to go to state mandated counsel
ing.I had to complete these requirements;in order;to get my
drivers license back. It's a long story but I was working nights,
fell asleep driving and there was as UNOPENED can of beer on the
back seat.I hit a pole;asleep;totaled my car and while unconcious;
the can broke open and sprayed the inside of the car!I was knocked-out but the car; probably; smelled like a still when the cops got there.I lost my license for 30 days(first offense)and to get it back;they sent me a paper;that had to be signed at each
AA meeting and at each counseling meeting. The meetings were not for me.The only reason that I went to the Rochester NH.meeting;was that;the 3rd. Chapter Motorcycle club went
there;and like my wife said;"You don't tell those guys to go any-
where. They go because they want to!" Irish
P.S.I haven't touched alcohol since that morning!That was;almost;
9yrs.&7mo. ago. When it costs me that much grief;it's not worth it!

LoveDiva4u---Thanks.It helps to know that you have people;that
you care about;besides your family;caring about what you do!I
don't start again because now I realise that other people besides
myself are affected.Besides;I;can't stand the fact that something
might influence my thinking. As my kids always said--He's a pretty
good guy;just don't get him pissed at you. Irish

Irish, I hope you didn't take my feeble lil joke the wrong way - meant no disrespect at all... it was just there, waiting for me to pick it up & fling it, & a smartass like me can't let one go by like that! More power to ya for fighting & winning that battle everyday... my only real addiction is to cigs, I always say, it's ok, I can quit after the next one...

Irish
01-08-2002, 08:37 AM
scotzoidman---No offense taken.I;personally;don't think that there is anything wrong with the use of alcohol. When;I used to
drink;beer was as inexpensive as soda.I liked beer alot better;so
I figured --"Why not drink beer?"Besides;in those days it was cool
to drink.I just let it get out of hand!Noone to blame but myself.
Noone;forced me to drink.12yrs. ago;Iwas drinking a case(24cans)of beer a day,A 1/2gallon of Flieshmans(90proof)whiskey,
and that was just home. That wasn't counting going out every night!I know how hard it is to quit cigarettes.I used to smoke(approx)2packs of Camels a day.I haven't smoked (except pot)in
over 30yrs. now.Don't worry about the jokes.I handle things by
joking about them!I don't miss wine&whiskey;but;I LOVED BEER.
I have thought about having one but I'm not willing to take the
chance.Like I said;I don't preach; to people;not to drink.Just don't
let it control you. After years;it just becomes a way of life.Like
smoking;it's a habit.Time to give my; soapbox;back to Olldfart!!

Irish.

You're stuck with it now.

I've just stolen a really nice red Milk crate that's so much

lighter and I don't have to worry about slivers.

If I get treatment from Nurse Diva, it'll be under good

old-fashioned false pretences like it should be.

Nurse Diva, it hurts, kiss it better please!!!!

Irish

Oldfart---I'll see if I can find room for it!Ive already got (5)five
milkcrates-two black,one yellow,&one red.Come to think of it;I had
two blue but one broke. It's a good thing that I have an acre of
land.I'll have to stack them behind my garage. There should be room there for two black, one yollow, one red,one blue& a soapbox
If you ever need any of them;just ask. They come with an instruction sheet and a sheet on proper setup and use! Irish

With milkcrates;you need a sheet on proper use! With whiskey
crates;you don't need instructions. You are born knowing how to use them. It's part of your heritage not to need instructions.Comes
naturally! Irish
PS.Diva---A woman; who worked; in a bar was instrumental;in my
quitting.I thought that you would be interested because you said that you previously;worked in a bar.I would tell you about it but its to long a story to tell properly with the limit on words through
Pixies!
