krzykrn 11-22-2002 03:57 PM

Thankfully nothing (no car sold it when I moved out West), when we had the fuel price hike a little while back, gas was on average over $2 a gallon...sheesh Bilbo, near $3/gallon good god!

LixyChick 11-22-2002 05:09 PM

$1.35 a gallon.........and I am looking at the above replies and I am in shock! I thought we had it bad....I am relieved now!!!!

scotzoidman 11-22-2002 05:10 PM

If I drive a few miles out of my way (wasting more precious fuel) I can get it for $1.29 or less, using the trusty Kroger discount card

Saddaddy 11-22-2002 05:37 PM

$1.38 for 87 octane per gal .

Lorelei 11-22-2002 07:44 PM

I don't know. I just say for instance, "$10.00, pump 8". I use at least 93 gas. I just go to the most convenient gas station.

Steph 11-22-2002 07:54 PM

I'm paying 68 cents a litre . . . must learn the conversion one day.

Ha! That is nothing! US$ and Euros are equal now and we pay around 1 Euro 05 Cent per litre 95 octane, 91 octane 4-5 Cent cheaper

Scarlett 11-22-2002 10:20 PM

I have no idea. I just go fill 'er up and use my gas card.

Sugarsprinkles 11-22-2002 10:31 PM

There's a little price war going on around here...I just paid $1.19 per gal. today. :D:D:D

vampeyes 11-22-2002 10:33 PM

We just paid $1.23 but Krogers had it the other day for $1.11 with the Kroger card.. of course that probably changed now that its the weekend

Sharni 11-22-2002 10:36 PM

LMFAO

Scarecrow 11-23-2002 03:01 PM

Just droped in the last week from $1.45us to $1.29us a gal.

BlondeCurlGirl 11-24-2002 01:14 AM

I cheered today when I filled up, it's been the lowest it has been in since probably last winter... $1.39 USD. I thought we had it bad here too, but looking at some of these others, I guess WI has been lucky, despite the very high gas tax.

PantyFanatic 11-24-2002 02:17 AM

That’ something I’d be interested in knowing.

I know the US is both the biggest petro hogs and at the least cost:o. And that’s with every level of the government hiding in the price with their pockets open:mad:. Just wondering if it’s primarily volume, processing and distribution efficiencies that give us this advantage  or are your middle maggots:redghost: and political parasites :redghost: the factor that drives it up so high for you?

(If it seems that I have an attutide, it’s because I do:mad:. Don’t bother trying to convince me that anybody beside the little hauler and pumper is loosing money at any point)

This is about what we pay in SE Texas...

Wow, PF, you've got that conversion thing covered, don't you?

(good job though, it helps in the discussion)

Wombat 11-24-2002 08:10 AM

You guys in US don't know what high fuel prices are , haha , where I am it's 92-94c/ltr for regular unleaded and 97-99c/ltr for premium. Our federal govt. has it's hand in the pockets of the fuel buyers to the tune of about half of that and then you got state govt. dipping in for about 20c worth .
Your pollys in the US don't have the balls to hike up your gas prices for fear of being voted out of office .

PantyFanatic 11-24-2002 09:05 AM

It's only the size of the worm in the apple that differs. ;)

FussyPucker 11-24-2002 01:22 PM

You know I find it funny when people say they drive out of their way to get gas cheaper some of them are driving a very long way to "save" very little.........one day they will realise what they're doing LOL

I still prefer public transport well ok my motorbike cos it can go for ever on a tank full hehehe :D

quisath 11-24-2002 01:28 PM

Well................I paid $1.16 a gallon last night and filled up. (regular) I saw another place that had it for $1.14 a Gallon. Guess we're doing better than most.

PantyFanatic 11-24-2002 01:31 PM

WTF!!!! You're standing on the stuff. So you're still over paying. ;)

Summer 11-24-2002 02:02 PM

I am paying $1.43 for Diesel at the moment.

Irish 11-25-2002 01:24 AM

I use premium in my motorcycle;medium octane in my cars & regular in my Plow Vehicle(350cu in 79 Blazer) and regular in my
riding lawnmower/plow and my push snowblower.Amid all of the confusion;I don't know what they all cost.I just know that;unless
it's outrageous;if I need it I buy it.I used to worry about the price;
but you have to buy it.People have asked me what I get for mileage on;for instance;my motorcycle.I tell them that I never checked it.I'm a mechanic. If I'm using to much gas;I'll know that it's not running right;long before I get gas! Irish

Grumble 11-25-2002 02:20 AM

we pay $AUD0.95/litre at the moment. in the last few months it has been as high as $1.05 and as low as $0.85

octane rating is about 92 I think. You can only buy unleaded petrol here these days.

skipthisone 11-25-2002 08:53 AM

Paying $1.24, I used to be a big 93 octane buyer with no ethanol. Last month when I bought my new car and was reading the owners manual (yes i read the whole thing) it was completely against using anything above 87, said after lots of studies there are little to no benefits using it, so I am not giving an extra $.20 per gallon to the oil companies any more.

Irish 11-25-2002 09:15 AM

STO---The octane of the gas that you use;should be based on the
compresson of your engine. Before the 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Loredo(sp?)that I just got for my wife;I bought her a new 1999
Pontiac Grand Am GT.It had a Ram Air V6 engine. The dealer said
that you could use Regular 87 octane in it.I never did.I would hate
to see the inside of the engine if I did. They'll tell you anything to
make a sale.When we bought it;the salesman;told my wife;all kinds of wrong things.My best friends father&granfather owened
the Pontiac dealership;in my home town.I was working with their
Head Mechanic;when I was 12.It's a good thing that I was with
her because I knew more(mechanically)about the car then the
salesman did! Irish
P.S.I love Pontiacs!

BIBI 11-26-2002 09:57 PM

Up here in Ontario eh! Gas prices are cheaper during the week than on the weekends!

Usually during the week 65 to 68 cents a litre and on weekends depending whether it is a long weekend or a regular one it can go as high as 84 cents.....pisses me right off to say the least!
I guess they bring in special blends for the weekends.

Lilith 11-26-2002 10:03 PM

$1.55 this a.m. for 87 octane

dzbuster 11-26-2002 11:05 PM

averaging around 1.50/gal 87 octane thankfully i got a 3 cyl 1 litre engine

MilkToast 11-26-2002 11:27 PM

I thought the gas was free... it's just the $0.99 mexican food that costs money ;)
