Transitions : Lois Lane

Actress Noel Neill, who played Lois Lane, the intrepid reporter on the Adventures of Superman television series who never quite figured out her Daily Planet colleague Clark Kent was the "man of steel", has died aged 95, a friend said.

Neill died on Sunday at her home in Tucson, Arizona, after a long illness, Jim Nolt, owner of The Adventures Continue website dedicated to the 1950s TV show, said in a statement.

Neill was born on November 25, 1920, in Minneapolis, where her father was a journalist at the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

When the Superman franchise was revived in 1978 as a big-budget movie with Christopher Reeve in the starring role, Neill made a cameo appearance as Lane's mother.

In 2006, she had a brief role in Superman Returns, as did Jack Larson, who had played Olsen in the TV series.

They both appeared in a 1991 episode of the Superboy show, and Larson died last September at 87.

Sorry to see her gone now. We're losing far too many of people many of us knew as we grew up. :(

Rest in peace, Noel! Rest in peace.

Yep, another one bites the dust.

...which bites the big one.

She had real life first & last names both beginning with 'N'.....
And she played a part where her first and last names both started with 'L'.
That means nothing, it just caught my attention.... weird I know.

But also she was a reporter on TV and her Dad was a journalist in real life...
again no meaning... just to much free time today I guess.

That's all.. Thanks for posting OF. :)

The Daily Planet was good old-fashioned print media.

Hold the front page, Perry.

A lot of old fashioned media that was printed daily has been replaced by the internet. Somehow it doesn't seem right not to have ink on your fingers after reading it. And its so much more fun to take the Sunday paper onto the front porch with your fav girl/guy and swap sections while drinking a bottomless cup of coffee.

Awwww the good ole days.

Don't give up on the good old days too quickly. You can always swap tablets. :)

lol -- Guess you're right.

Do you get a pen or pencil to write notes on the tablets you swap.

:yikes: I'm showing my age!

how do you know an old person used your computer?

because there's white-out on the screen.

(can replace 'old person' with any one.)
