Absence!
As a long time pixies member,I just wanted to tell everyone, that I
will not be contributing, for awhile. If anyone remembers,I recently tried a (temporary)Spinal Cord Stimulator. It worked better for the pain, then anything else, that has been tried.Feb 6(next Fri)I will be admitted into the Wentworth-Douglas Hospital,in Dover NH,to have a permanent SPC & battery pack installed,in my body.I have been putting up, with the discomfort(pain)since a ,botched, back operation,in 1970. I used to ignore it,but as I age,it has gotten more intense & frequent. In less then a month(Feb 27),I will be 60.My physical condition, isn't going to get any better,so I might as well have it done now.I have to have many tests(MRI,etc)this week,so see you all when I recuperate. Irish, I'm relatively new here, I want you to know that I have enjoyed reading your posts. You seem like a really nice man. I'm so glad you're taking this step to help control your pain, and I wish you all the very best... and a speedy recovery.

Steph! Take the pins out of the back of that doll.
LMAO ;) Good luck to ya.:) Are you going to have the same saw-bones put the Die Hard in?;) (just wondered:confused: ..... Where do they put the plug at night to recharge you?) ;) ;) |
I appreciate the get well wishes!
I'm not very good,at explaining medical procedures, but if anyone wants to know how this procedure works. The pain clinics website is www,seacoastpain.com. After you access the website, click on: Spinal Cord Stimulators.By the way,I didn't pick the date. The procedure,is done,in the operating room,of the hospital. The hospital, detirmines, the time.As with any medical procedure, there is quite a waiting list! Irish,
I'm so sorry to learn of your condition. I'm sure that this device will help. I hope to see your posts again soon. Best of luck! |
PF---I have a LONG extension cord,so I can get a recharge,at your
house. That way, the electrical bill, goes to you.Seriously, the battery, supposedly, has an(approx)5yr life. Some applications have a rechargeable battery,so that you don't require another operation.I have to talk that over with the Dr.It's hard to plan, for these things.I might die tomorrow! Irish |
Hope all goes well for you, Irish. I wish you a very speedy recovery. Be nice to the nurses ;)..................................but not too nice :D
