Yes, I've been away

In the past couple of weeks I have:
1. Had a visit with the ortho-dude. My degenerative disc disease is back, this time in my lower back, with pain radiating to my upper thighs, rather than neck/shoulders. I'm now on a couple of different meds, a muscle relaxer & a steroid. The pain level varies widely throughout the day.

2. Ortho-dude said I could go do the nature walks that I do for the first of the two back-to-back camping events I typically staff in early June. Those "propbably" wouldn't make things any worse. So I went, and he seems to have been correct in that assessment.

3. Had two physical therapy appointments.

4. Did not have the 'net connection I thought I would have at the campground; hence, didn't manage to keep up with my 100 years ago today in history posts. Will be catching up on those as I can; will be posting four after I finish this note.

So sorry to hear you have such pain. Whats in the plans for the future? Can your back be fixed?

Our prayers and best wishes are with you, gekkogecko. Glad your camping trip went well and the next 100 or so will do even better. Just take care of yourself.

Well, when this happened to me back in 2010, I had to have neuro-surgery. Pretty much took care of the problem until about 6 weeks ago: this time around, it's in my lower back, rather than upper. Ortho-dude says no surgery this time, so let's hope he's right, and things get better with the meds & PT.

Hey if the pain continues downward you'll be able to tell someone they're a real pain in the ass and mean it! Well I hope it doesn't move but the meds and PT chases it right outta town!!

Wishing you a speedy, pain free recovery.

I'll vote with you on that one, Teddy! Just take good care of yourself, GG!

gekkogecko,

I hope you and your medical staff find the right mix of treatments for your condition.
