16 is the legal age at which girls can give "valid consent" in the UK, but that does not mean that a relationship with an adult with such a big age gap is a good thing. The reason consent is at that age is so that 16 year olds can safely explore urges that come naturally without being branded criminals. I think that the more developed and substantial relationships (sexual or otherwise) that occur in later life (early-twenties and beyond), are not what your average 16 year old is looking for or capable of handling. Go for someone a little closer to your own age, or at least a little older than this girl.

I'll probably catch alot of heat for saying this but I don't think it's that bad. I mean really, if she's 17 now do you really think she's gonna know a ton more about sex and life in a year? I mean, if it was a 13 y/o or something that's different but when she's 18 she's still gonna know as much as she does now which is probably more than you think. I wouldn't recommend pursuing it but I wouldn't say you were a bad man if you did it. The law might have a different opinion so I'd wait. Besides, don't you think this would creep her out. I mean, she's 17 and you're 37, what makes you think she's interested?

I tottaly agree with Rollin Stone at least the point he's tryin to get a across. But the law will **** you over for life if you gonna do something like that so wait a year or two and see what happens, or order a russian mail order bride. (j/k)
