Crappy ...err Happy Anniversary to me......

Well, 8 years ago today, I tied the knot, certainly not knowing that things would end up this way.

Do any of the rest of you who have gone thru divorce, remember your anniversary? Do you care? Does the day make you happy or sad.

Or, is it just another day?

PS- I feel like I've abused you all enough on this subject, so this "should" be the end. Thanks again.

As the child of serial monogamists, I'd say the sooner you let it go, the sooner everyone can heal.

for me its just another day. But then I refuse to let past actions affect my future with others. If i dwell on it then nothing will ever be right. So i dont.

1nutworld, I'm very sorry for your pain, and I believe I understand it. I'm on a somewhat similar journey.

I don't think that after loving someone enough to marry them, and then bringing children into the world with them, that I could ever be able to view an anniversary as "just another day". I think there will always be a bittersweet feeling attached to those days as well as a certain amount of grieving for the "lost possibilities".

But I also think that as time passes, the anniversaries and happy memories will become easier. And God willing, there will be happy times in the future, and possibly even anniversaries (of things to come) to remember and celebrate that bring joy.

Also- I think that if it helps you at all, you should continue discussing your divorce in the forums. In my opinion, it's no burden at all to try to help someone else who's hurting.

I remember my anniversaries, both of them, lol. The trick here,is to remember that something good comes from everything we experience..There were good times in your relationship,or you wouldn't have tied the knot..If you had a child with that person..That's something to think positive about..Remembering the bad times will subside in time..It's usually easier to remember the tough times at first, but you'll be better off in the future..So will everyone involved..How I look at it is ..What could I have done differently..What should I do in the future,so this doesn't happen again..
Have a Great Day..It keeps them wondering what you're up to..
