Corvids, the group of birds including crows, magpies and such, are wonderful problem solvers and may be smarter than monkeys and dogs.

Look at the beak of the crow/raven/magpie and you will see a powerful multi-purpose tool. The starling's beak is a slender insectivore bill, able to dig into insect holes etc. |

AHH yes I see that now and actually the local Crows are usually bigger birds than Starlings
