!!!!Hot Damn!!!!

YAY for me! I am finally coming out of the dark ages. Have had digi cable but was running it on an ancient old athlon, cable was too fast for the puter, it was a wreck. So now I am sassy and ready to go, except I have one teensy problem, teh new puter is basically naked and I am not sure what all I want to put on it.

Was wondering what programs/software you guys love? What are the programs/software you use all the time? And what is it for? In other words which ones should I go hit Grokster up for first :D?

It depends on your interests and the work you do. Among my most basics are

AutoCad
Convertter
MS Project
MS Office
MS Outlook
Precision Time Check
.
.
.
.

Or you can just look at what I put on my puter……

For the CD Burner I recommend the Roxio Easy CD and DVD ..............which ever one you can get...................I just finished building a Really BAD system myself and have been doing alittle shopping too. Just be careful of the Lame stuff circulating Cutie. Make sure Nortons is on your side. ;)

for a lot less money than Roxio I would strongly recommend taking a look at Nero. A simple piece of software that does everything that Roxio can do for a lot less money (and it can also do some things that Roxio can not which is nice if you have an older MP3 capable player in your car). I used Roxio (and before that when it was by Adaptec) for years, but now that I switched there is no going back.

There is another program that I find very nice (and has already been mentioned). Paint Shop Pro... while it is not fully up to Adobe Photoshop (have that too!) it is a heck of a lot less bucks and for 99% of what I do it is fine.

And of course, since you have a cable modem... something that firewalls is a must have. If you do not have a hardware one, then most of the anti-virus companies (i.e. McAfee or Norton) have one that is bundled with the other must have... and active/background anti-virus scanner. Nothing worse than getting a virus or some punk ass script running kiddie trying to hack at your PC.

I am trying to make it so I can still use the programs I have on my old one too. So far so good.I have the wireless network/router stuff installed and I can get both puters on the net but I'll be damned if I can make them talk and share with eachother. I was really not meant to be an techie person:o

MusicMatch for the onboard jukebox.

Nero is good, simple to use.

And Norton SystemWorks is REALLY good!

Good luck to you sweetie.

Once you've got all that software sorted Lil, you need to start looking at hardware add ons for your PC:

Just let me know if you can find a vibrating dildo attachment......that's all my PC is missing to make my Pixie perving complete! Lol

oldfart2020 04-29-2003 09:28 PM

If both systems can use the router to get on the net they must be able to talk to each other
what operating system do you have and do you have any files shared on both

one is XP and one is 98 and I have no clue how to set stuff up. I am gonna get some sexy tech boy to come fixxx me:p
