Astigmatism
I have been having headaches and eyestrain problems recently I thought it was because I had bin using the computer a lot so i went out and got a screen filter them I noted I was unable to read number plates at a distance so I booked an eye test the optician did all the tests and told me I had a astigmatism so I need glasses I pick them up tomorrow
i had to look up what the hell Astigmatism is this was one of the clearest answers i gothttp://www-staff.lboro.ac.uk/~huph/astig.htm |
I just got glasses for mine too Axe. I didn't realize how poorly I saw til I could see better :p

I'm have myopia coupled with that
So when i switch from contacts to glasses it takes me a few minutes for my eyes to settle and readjust |
Suffer from the same thing. :(
All that time I thought it was just because I had my eyes closed. |
I've had slight astigmatism my whole life...but not so severe that I couldn't wear contact lenses even before they made lenses for astigmatism. Today, there are lenses made for this affliction. It's not all as bad as it sounds. Actually, it's quite common.

I had astigmatism since I first got glasses at age 8. When I turned 24 I went in for lasic surgery so I would no longer wear glasses. It took care of astigmatism and my eye site problem. I am glad I had it done. Now when I go kayaking I don't worry about flipping over and losing my glasses or going swimming and not knowing what I have swam into. LOL
I was told that when I reach my late 40's I will more than likely need reading glasses. |
