Crazy? I don't know. I have experienced the desensitization effect myself, where I've grown bored with porn in general (although I'm more likely to chalk that up to the abysmal lack of creativity and humor inherent in a lot of porn than my need for something more extreme).

I wonder, rather, if it's that it's easier to get yourself off than it is to get off with someone else, and someone who's doing a fair amount of porn watching and fappage has trained their body for an early release. I guess I have some issues here and there with Naomi Wolf, and am often skeptical. And I don't really go in for the trend of pathologizing every human trait. Sex drive is instinct, and one of the strongest instincts we have. People have always been deeply interested in sex: having it, watching it. I don't think that's going to ever change. I think the recent scandals and poor decision-making regarding sexual overtures has more to do with a highly confessional culture and a sense of invulnerability among those who imagine themselves to have power and undeniable charisma. That is to say, I think it may devolve from personality, rather than from porn. I don't think we can generalize on half the population; no good can come from that.
