I'm taking an Anthropology class of Africa this semester... and to us it sounds like self- defense, but under traditonal African 'customs, beliefs, religions, etc'... Wife beating isnt viewed on as all that bad..
Plus the law- police in Africa are still fairly .... uhh let's say new. It's in its infancy, therefore people in Africa get away with more than they do in the US for example... because in the US the law is more strictly enforced.
