1. Eye contact and a semi-innocent smile from across a room are good icebreakers.
2. Talk to him, and make some form of casual contact while talking
3. Move in for the kill and invite him to do something one-on-one sometime that in the course of the above talking we found out we had in common.

These are the steps I used to get my current boyfriend, and we've been together 3 years and going strong... You have to be willing to get on his turf-- For example, I bled a little from my first time mountain biking but it impressed him that I was willing to try, and in the process found a hobby I love
