"Day after tomarrow"--the movie

Just got the DVD, "The Day after Tomarrow"

Just wondering if others like the movie and is there a favorite all time disaster movie that you like. Personally, I perfer "Deep Impact" better then the rest.

As far as 'The Day after Tomorrow' goes....I was entertained, yet extremely disappointed. If you haven't seen the movie and want to .....stop reading NOW!

My problem is that a lot of it didn't make sense....for instance...when Sam's dad found him in the Library, they had a fire burning, yet there was no smoke coming out of the chimney when they came up to the building. If there was no smoke coming out of the chimney, then they would have all died from smoke inhalation.
Also....if and ice burg the size of Rhode Island can break off and cause a climate shift, what is going to happen when the entire northern hemispere melts? What is going to happen to the world when all ofthose eco-systems are destroyed and the crops are gone? In my oppinion the chaos was just beginning when the movie ended, and when it did...they made you think everything was just hunky dory! WTF!!!
There were other things that bothered me...those are just the ones I can think of right now! LOL!

By the way...I love 'Armageddon' and 'Independence Day'
I love the funny end of the world movies!

I strongly dislike disaster movies. I don't want to be around for the end of the world or some other big horror, and I certainly don't want to pretend to see it on a movie, either.

But to each their own.

So right!!

Hense why I like "Deep Impact" more--fewer technical errors. I was wondering about the smoke coming from the chimmney as well. But what struck me was how would everone get fed after all the world's major bread baskets are under ice and snow. And that if there was a true evacuation of USA into Mexico, do you not think that the USA would have just simply invaded and took over?
