What are your thoughts about the anonomous nature of Pixies? I find that because nobody knows me here I can let go all of my inhabitations, speak my mind and really let out my wildside which is normally kept under wraps. Lately though I’ve had this silly fear that someone will somehow recognize me by what I say…I have yet to post any pictures. Does anyone else have these fears or would it not bother you in the least if someone you knew read your posts or saw your pictures? I suppose if they were here too they’re not a prude, but it would still freak me out. It’s one thing to share with all of you, it’s another to share with someone I know. Has this ever happened to anyone? I guess I'm just being paranoid, but thought I’d throw it out there to get everyone else’s reaction.

I agree GR it is one thing to share here as long as no one knows who you are rather if someone you know was on here reading your post's

Since I have nothing to hide and I could careless what others think ..............I guess when you have something to hide you tend to be Paranoid. When you accept who you are then maybe you will enjoy your time here better. I don't mean to offend anyone. Just my opinion.

Many people have different public and private personas. Each may respond to the same stimulus differently. Indeed, it is an unusual individual where the two are a unified whole. An ideal individual perhaps, but unusual for being so. I know that both my wife and I would be uncomfortable if our children saw some of our private behavior. I suspect that that behavior would scandalize our children.

Pixies is a domain within which the operating rules, limits, guidelines are sufficiently different from “the outside world” that what is acceptable here may very well be considered questionable by someone you knew outside of Pixies.

You would, however, have a reasonable position if that someone were to invest the effort to seek out Pixies and discover you here. By definition, you would be sharing interests. Even by the very flexible standards which most people have, it would be hypocritical indeed to criticize someone for being a member of a site you yourself visited.

That reminds me of an old Groucho Marx quip, “I’d never lower myself enough to join a club whose standards were low enough to admit me.”

I don't know if I'll ever post my face here but that's because the power of the Internet is so strong - someone e-mails a post to a few blokes, they forward it to a few more . . . Posting thoughts is different, tho'. I'm not worried about what people think about me here. If they're browsing here, reading the posts and then decide to judge me for using a "sex site", they're hypocrites, IMHO.

I am not frightened of being recognised by anyone. I have put my face up here. This is not a porn site but a collection of honestly sexual people.

Quite a few are my friends and I would welcome them into my home unashamedly.

I think jseal has just about summed it up for me; I haven't told anyone I know about Pixies (apart from Celticangel!!) BUT.. if someone I know was to find their way here, and STAY, then I would have to assume it was because they liked what they saw/read here.

In that case, it wouldn't bother me they knew I/we come here... the main reason CA and I remain anonymous is because of our jobs - the West of Scotland can still be very Puritanical when it comes to sexual matters!!

(Also, I can be a bit shy aometimes, so anonymity suits me fine!!)

I've often thought about posting, however I kinda cannot due to my nature of work, film industry. I don't think any of the regulars would sell my photo to hard copy, but it's the unknowns I worry about. The lurkers.
