You've spent too much time on Pixies in one day/night when...

...you get an unsolicited email advertisement for a "European Hot Dog Maker - Cooks the Perfect Hot Dog" and suspect it's porn e-mail when it isn't....

Here's the ad copy:

So you think you're an expert at cooking the best tasting hotdogs? If there is one thing us American Connoisseurs long for, it's a really well made hotdog. Think about it. You won't just go out and buy any old hot dog. Every one of us hotdog lovers has our favorite street side dive. From Coney Island to downtown Chicago to Pinks in Los Angeles, we all know the best place to get a good hot dog in our neighborhood.

It's All About the Steam...

For the longest time we didn't know how those famous street side vendors made a simple hot dog taste so darn delicious. Until now that is. It's all about the steam. There's a reason why we don't cook many hot dogs at home. We've either had to boil, barbecue or nuke them in the microwave. And it's never the same. But steam changes everything. And would you believe that Europeans have been making them in their homes this way for generations. Yep, it's true.

With the European Steamer from Italian design you can finally make hot dogs in your own kitchen just like your favorite world famous street vendor. It even has dual bun heater spikes for making your hot dog buns nice and toasty. The steamer can also be used to steam a variety of other food items such as vegetables, eggs, and more. Steaming helps retain the nutritional value, flavor and freshness of foods. It's a healthy way to cook!

Everything You Need...

Includes Steamer base with bun heater spikes, detachable steaming compartment with reservoir, perforated steaming plate, vegetable steaming basket, glass lid with handle and a set of tongs. Everything you need to make the world's best tasting hot dogs or steamed veggies is right here. Enjoy!

Steams 1-6 Frankfurters
Quality construction and components.
Built In safety features.
Easy to fill, load, operate, drain & clean.
Pro-grade foodservice performance in a home appliance.
Healthier cooking - no oil or fat required.
Steam is recycled to ensure minimum loss of water.
Two built in bun warming spikes.
Long-term hot storage for Wiener & "hot-dog" type sausages with no shrinkage, crusting, drying, excessive softening, bursting or loss of flavor.

I think I'll use "It's all about the steam" from now on as a catchphrase.
Okay. Maybe not.

bah! the only way to cook a hot dog is with 120VAC/60Hz

this can then be extended to making a pickle glow... yes, it has been done (I met one of the characters at my first job).

Not that I recommend going home and trying either experiment

*wonders how I keep getting so far from the original topic*

I'll take a hot dog on a bun or the ones attached to some hunk, but I think I'll leave the deep-fried pickles for the rest of you. :fly:

As long as it's been since I've made love with anyone, I'd call just about any BODY attached to a throbbing hot dog a "hunk of burning love."

Yeah and the likelihood of my doing that, or anyone calling me that, are slim and none right about now. :P
