Your Ideal

work hours? If you still had to work a full day what would be your choice of your work hours based on your own body clock and schedule?

I used to work 6AM to 2:30PM and liked those hours. We had flex hours and 6 was the earliest we could start. Probably would have made it 5AM to 1:30PM if I could have.

I'd like to work 4/10's...from 5-3:15 (15 minutes for lunch...2-3 other breaks during the day), and get it over with and have 3 day weekends! It takes me two days to recover from the last week...I just want one more to enjoy as a "me" day!

Lixy, it was you that made me think of the topic. I agree with you on the 4 / 10s. I work that anyway but I chose the wrong line of work for that.

Definitely not mornings!!! I hate rush hour. I'll be going to evenings again in the new year and that works for me. I won't need two alarm clocks, no rush hour, I can do laundry/errands/etc. when everyone else is at work and head to work right before the hordes descend on the streetcars.

Wednesday's from 1:30 to 2:00pm would be perfect.

But since my lifestyle required more than $600 a year, well, I'll deal with my current hours of 8:30 - 5:30, Monday to Friday. 4/10's wouldn't be horrible either.

10 to 8:30 pm, 4 days a week. I care not about TV schedules...but I would like to miss traffic

This would allow me some time in the mornings to run errands and such

I work all sorts of hours, very few friendly.

4/10 sounds fine to me, especially daylight.

TV? My digital video-recorder takes care of that.

I miss being able to go to the bank or post office. And forget making a trip to the court house.

i used to work a 6 to 2 shift...it was great, loved it... getting home so early in the afternoon, especially on a nice day, made me feel like i had the day off. i know that sounds weird but once i got used to waking up so early it wasn't a big deal.

I would preferably work something like 11am - 7pm. I hate mornings and operate optimally in the afternoon. I also like being able to do things that I need to do in the mornings.

Currently, I'm working 8-4...it works out pretty well for getting the kiddos to their "stuff" in the afternoon, although I'd be more than happy to start even earlier if it meant an earlier departure time.

I would go back to working 11pm to 7am If I had some errands to do in the morning I had plenty of time.If nothing needed doing go home go to bed then get up around 3pm and have all evening with the family. Now working 7am to 5 pm 6 days a week not much time to do anything.

I am a morning person and even though I have to get up at the ungodly hour of 3 AM - I love 4AM to 12:30 (though I rarely leave before 2)
