LeRoi Moore, the versatile saxophonist whose signature staccato fused jazz and funk overtones onto the eclectic sound of the Dave Matthews Band, died Tuesday of complications from injuries he suffered in an all-terrain vehicle accident, the band said. He was 46.

I spent the evening with DMB jamming on my mp3 in his honor...he was as important to the band sound as Matthews himself.

Did he die at the scene or in the hospital? I'm sure I've heard their music, but I don't ever remember song titles and bands unless I have to. The death of any artist is always tragic and he will be sorely missed by all fans of the band and I'm sure by the band themselves.
