Price and personality are the main ones for me.
Licensed prostitution is legal here in Australia provided the brothel owner or escort acts in accordance with the laws - must be checked reguarly, must insist on condoms, can't hang around on street corners etc.
So the 'health card' wouldn't be as big a concern for me.

But yeah basically something affordable (which rules out everything here, half my weekly wage for an hour of sex? no thanks) and with someone who obviously enjoys sex and is going to make it comfortable and fun.

& since Lil left a great big "if" in her question, I just popped out with the first smartass answer that came to me...actually I've never seriously considered going the pro sex route, so I really have no idea what I'd look for...not to say "I'd never do that", I just believe that one way or another, everyone "pays" for sex...I'd rather pay towards the mortgage than rent
