So I was running the electric clippers across my scalp this morning...

and as the hair fell I noticed a lot of grey mixed in with the dark brown that had been adorning my head. Dammit... I'm not ready to be distinguished like OF, Scotz and PF. I'm only 33 fer Pete's sake.

Actually, the only thing that really bugs me about it is that it's not likely for peeps to think I'm in my mid 20's anymore. I love watching the look on people's faces when I tell them how old my daughter is... or when they think she's my kid sister. LOL

Anyone else start to go grey early on in life?

People often mistake kleclere for about 7-8 years younger than he is, around my age. I don't know if it's his personality or boyish charm or what, but he won't be able to play that card for MUCH longer, as he's getting a little gray at the temples.

In answer to your question, though...I dated a guy most of high school and afterwards that had gray appearing at age *18.* Damn!

I always try to tell people that light color is really platinum blond ... but I think when they look at the rest of me they get suspicious.

I've got a few gray sprigs nestled in with the others but the real show is in my facial hair.... my daughter loves to tug at it and say "See this? I did that!" LOL It doesn't really bother me though. I'm 47, it's time. So let the gray fall as it may.

Wait a gaddam minit here...how did I get dragged into this "distinguished" class? All right, I concede that the white has taken over most of the facial hair, up to & including the temples, & some sprinkles farther up the scalp...but dammit, I still see mostly reddish-brown up there...& the beard never did settle on any one color till the grey took over...facial hair was always a mishmash of blonde, red, brown, peach fuzz, the odd black one(WTF did that come from?!?)...just last week my fifty-something drummer (who looks like Col. Sanders' little brother) asked me where all my grey was...oddly enough, Mrs Zoid, only 6 months my junior, has had exactly one (1) white hair, & I know she doesn't Clairol...but then I've always said she's a carrier, she just aggravated the color out of my hair...

Anyway, I have little sympathy for this "only 33" whimpering...I have a family history of turning grey and/or bald in the mid-twenties, so I was grateful to still have most of my hair intact for as long as it's lasted...

and there you have it...my hair is turning white, and PF's is turning loose...

Count me in as another panicky Pixie with the thought of Aqua shavin' it all off!

Glad to know that wasn't quite how it went.

Yeah, I'm going grey but unfortunately for me it's in a pattern that's more common on a man's noggin. Dude looks like a lady....she IS a lady!!
I'm also goin' on 50 so that'll give me grey hair too.

A man I know says he's been grey since his early 20's...but he says his hair color is "silver". I always manage to burst his bubble and call it grey. Ain't I awful?

Aqua, if you want to give me palpitations, shortness of breath, and a racing pulse, I can think of lots of ways I'd prefer you to do it than by scaring me like that!!!!!!

As for the grey, don't worry about it. People go grey at different times and ages, so it doesn't mean that people will stop thinking that you're younger than your years.

Your attitude, your style, your manner etc is what makes people think you're in your twenties, not the colour of your hair!

Look at it this way, even you, whose hair it is, only noticed when you were clipping it, so the chances are no-one else will notice either.

You're sexy and delicious just the way you are, and I don't see that a few grey hairs will make any difference to that hun.

xxx

So long as you're calling me distinguished, not extinguished.

I have few grey hairs on my scone, just in the beard.

Ok...Grudgingly I will join this thread.

Waaay too much grey hair on the top....So much for getting carded at the bars anymore.

and the thing that irritates me the most, is the grey/white in my beard, makes me look MUCH older than I am.

With my beard or goatee as it grows now, I'd say I look at least 45 or pushing 50, but if I shave all my facial hair off, I could pass for prolly 28.

As a matter of fact, I grew my goatee in, but was given so much grief about the color from my friends at work, that I shaved it off over the weekend.

What me vain????
