That he was the first non-Italian in almost five centuries to achieve that holy post is ground breaking as it is...but I digress. *bows his head once more and sends a silent prayer to the heavens*

It was so sad to keep seeing an obviously ill man being propped up like a corpse for his public appearances

Amen to that, Sharni...
He was such a strong leader in many ways, & where he may have failed in other areas may well be because he was so powerful he weakened the bishops' powers to tend to the day-to-day operations...in any case, his strength & grace will be hard to replace...
