Thanks Oldfart. I think I've got a workaround now.

I hope it doesn't rain tomorrow. Suppose to be in a Labor Day parade in a nearby town and then go for a hog roast at a friend of ours home.

I'm annoyed that one of the ads in the Sunday paper described the guitar that comes with the new Beatles Rock Band game as a Rickenbacker 325, when it clearly was a faux guitar meant to look like the Hoffner bass (which makes no sense anyway, but that's another rant) and didn't look anything like a Rick 325. That tiny bit of research shouldn't have been that hard to do, right????

Doesn't bode well for how realistic the game will be, does it? Heard this a.m that "Back In the U.S.S.R" shows all 4 Beatles in their usual roles, while most any true Beatle fan knows that Ringo had quit the band during that recording, Paul was on the drums, & George was plucking away at a Fender Bass VI...so much for virtual reality.

I think the demographic they're aiming the game at doesn't know about all that and would disappointed to play a game that doesn't have all four Beatles in it. I know I didn't know that Ringo had left the group, but while I enjoy their music I'm not a hardcore fan and I'm to young to have lived through that time period.

Rock Band is based on doing live shows not studio recording. I'm going to take a leap here and assume that when they played "Back In the U.S.S.R" live Ringo played drums.

I'm pretty sure the Beatles never played "Back in the USSR" live; they stopped doing live shows in 1966, with the exception of the rooftop concert in 1969. The White Album including that song came out in 1968.

They do offer a Rickenbacker 325 that can be purchased separately (as well as a Gretsch Duo-Jet), but that's silly to say the Rick comes with the game when it clearly does not. I'm curious why you feel it makes no sense to offer the game with the Hofner bass?
I would really like to pick this game up. I find the Rock Band/Guitar hero games to be fun as it is, but I think it's really cool that the Beatle's Edition allows for up to three vocalists so you can (attempt) to sing the harmonies as led by the game.
