Jeff Purvis&Mark Martin.My wife is a big fan!I used to race cars&
motorcycles. When you used to race,it takes the fun of watching out.You think what you would do in a similar situation.I personally
can't stand Jeff Gordon! He may have talent but I dislike him. Most
people think that they could do the same thing, but most people
would be scared "shitless"at 150MPH+. Irish
PS.You rely on the other person being good, because if he isn't,
you're hurting or dead!

I never expected to spend time watching NASCAR and I don't really have a favorite driver. Except maybe Ward Burton. Love his attitude and love listening to him talk. But learning to watch and enjoy NASCAR was a trade off...my 'former, almost-daughter-in-law' taught us about NASCAR when she came from Kentucky and moved in with us, and we taught her the joys of HOCKEY!!!!

SS---You have at least one thing in common with my wife!
Everytime that Ward Burton is interviewed,I call my wife. She
loves listening to him also. One of the main reasons, that I like
his brother,is that altho many people don't know it,he has been
very instrumental in the development of different safety equipment! As a former and now older racer,I appreciate things
like that. Irish
P.S.I remember when ,even if something was broken,if you could
move it, you raced again.I have actually been picked up and set
on my bike(by my crew)when I had a cracked thigh,and couldn't
walk because of the pain.

Irish~ I used to work with a guy who was good friends with Jeff Purvis. Never got to meet him myself. As for Mark Martin...he's always been a favorite. I've got more Mark Martin merchandise than any other driver.

What did you guys think of the Coolerz 300 today? or did anybody watch? Jr, left 'em all sitting!!!

To me,the Daytona 500,was almost ruined by Mariah Carey(sp),
but then I have always disliked her!My wife would argue with me,
but I still think that John Travolta was cooler as Vinnie Barbarino!
For you young whippersnapers thats from "Welcome Back,Kotter"
days.Probably before you were born. Irish
P.S.My wife has vanity plates on her car. They say "Boogity."

Well, Irish, for once I agree with you. I think Mariah Carey was a lousy choice to have sing our National Anthem and the tribute song for the Columbia Crew. I don't think she's that great and she would have done much better if she didn't "over-sing" like she did. But then I don't care for her much in the first place.

Might as well have Madonna sing at the opening of the Baptist Convention... GEEZ! Where was Faith Hill when we needed her most?
