All of your picks were great!! 12th of never is a great love song... one of my all-time favorites. I feel that I must spread the wealth of the experience of the Dave Mattews Band. They have many beautiful songs like "Crush", "Crash", and he recorded with Santana on his "Supernatural" albumn. If you haven't heard their music, check it out, and let me know what you think.
My all-time favorite is Crush.

Sharni---The Righteous Bros. were Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley.
The last that I knew;they were not together anymore.Bill Medley
had his own group.Do you know what Bobby Hatfield is doing?
When my wife and I were first married;I was in the military. We
used to watch them;on a TV show called"Shindig"in our small
beachfront;off base;appartment.Did you have that show there?
That was around 1965. Irish

Do you mean Trisha Yearwood or Leann Rimes? Faith Hill never recorded "How Do I Live".

Some of my favorite lovesongs, starting with mine and my hubby's song are:

Me and You ~ Kenny Chesney
Truly, Madly, Deeply ~ Savage Garden
My Best Friend ~ Tim McGraw
Just To Hear You Say That You Love Me ~ Faith Hill and Tim McGraw
Keeper of The Stars ~ Tracy Byrd

Or how about "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole?

Another meaningful one to me and my hubby is "Right Here Waiting" by Richard Marx.

I could go on forever!

Sharni---Thank You.I thought of that year thing after I had submitted the thread. It's hard to keep in mind that you're older
then most people. In motorcycling and as foreman&head mechanic
I was always around people that were 10-15yrs younger than me
I just got used to it!Many times;I have been taken for mid30s-40.
I just have to remember that I shouldn't do the thing that I used
to do. Irish
P.S.I try to live by the rule that my father told me:
There is no shame in not being able to do something!
The shame is in not trying!

re: the Rightous Bros., I checked out the bio, good stuff there, even tho it's more of a promo... but I had read that Bill & Bobby have been on & off again many times over the years, ego battles, who got more solos, etc., kinda like they were real brothers; I guess they finally worked out their differences, soon as they realized how more $ they could make as a team lol. Legend has it that when they recorded "Lovin' feeling", Hatfield asked producer Phil Spector, "So what am I supposed to do on this song?", Phil replied, "You can go directly to the bank!"

You beat me to it Red. I would have said just about anything by Marvin Gaye or Al Green. Gotta throw Sam Cooke in there too.

"At first I thought it was infatuation, but ooh it's lasted so long
Now I find myself wanting to marry you and take you home
Woah-oh-wo-oh-oh
Yoooou send me
Darling yooou send me
Darling yooou send me
Honest you do, honest you, honest you do"

Two songs in particular that I must mention is not by Marvin, Al or Sam. One, "Your Song" by Elton John and Bernie Taupin.

My wife and I fell in love to that song. We danced to it at our wedding.

The second is an atypical love song. "Arms Wide Open" by Creed. You don't often hear a song devouted to a father's love for his child. I get teary whenever I hear it because I hit the airwaves at the same time I found out I'd be a father.

"Well I just heard, the news today
It seems my life, is gonna change
I close my eyes, begin to pray
Then tears of joy stream down my face
With arms wide open, under the sunlight
Welcome to this place, I'll show you everything
With arms wide open"

See what I mean?
