I'm bumping this thread in for two reasons

1- In case we have any newer members who ride

2- In case any of our members might be interested in this
http://sturgismsrally.com
Which is coming up in august.

Thumbs down

I,personally, don't go to any of the motorcycle rallys, anymore. They
may be enjoyable to the newer riders, but I've been riding & building motorcyles for over 45 yrs now & the motorcycling lifestyle
has changed,so much,that it's just not enjoyable,to me anymore!
I realise that everything changes, but in my opinion,it was much more enjoyable, before. The comraderie, that attracted me,originally
,isn't there anymore. Before people get defensive,I can only say that you have to be old enough,to see,the difference. Irish

I have (sort of) a 1980 Suzuki motocross bike. The sort of is because it is still in pieces after a bit of a spill off a mogul.

Haven't riden much since then but would love to. Just never seemed to find the money to get another bike.

Exclamation

darogle---The cost of a motorcycle, for the amount of use,is rediculous now.If you know bike mechanics yourself, you can occasionally ,get one that needs repair, for a decent price. Then unless you have a dealer, sales or repair license, the parts dealers,
won't give you a discount,so you're basically screwed.In a way,
you can't fault the parts dealers. If they didn't use that system,
everyone would say that they wanted a discount for "Joes(etc)
Garage".It's a no-win situation! Irish

Ewwww a Triumph......lol. I myself own a 1995 Honda Shadow 1100c. I would love to get a new bike since mine is a little on the small side. Not engine wise, but frame wise. Killed my knees when I rode it to South Carolina and back. Unfortunately, I can't afford insurance on both my bike and my car and I need the car more so I haven't ridden in over a year now. Kind of sucks.

I hadn't really considered Triumph until recently. The main thing I like about it is that you don't see them every time you turn your head. Although, it's also the thing that worries me. V-twins are everywhere and I like the look of the parallel twin. I also hear their reliability is top notch.

I know someone with a triumph. They seem to be a constant tinker. If you have the time and know how worth it for the fact that you don't see them everywhere. I have heard that they're a rough ride though. Real kidney knockers.

Must be an old 'un then - modern ones are just soooo much better!!

I sold my ZX6-R about 4 years ago now, as I was never really able to use it. Between working (too much!), and spending every spare hour taking my daughter to horse-riding or associated events, meant I almost never was able to even wheel it out of the garage.

Still, I've promised myself that when everything's 'sorted' so to speak, I'm getting myself a Honda Blackbird XX ...... just for fun, you understand!!
