Love your way of thinking, Sugarsprinkles!
I, too, would love to see some original teams in the finals!
Ottawa was there waaaaay back when, though, too. Does their reincarnation count? LOL

Sugarsprinkles---It's too bad;that like you say;some of the people
;like on sports message boards;have to ruin it for everyone else!
Years ago;my youngest daughter;was a softball pitcher. One of the opposing teams coach/umpire was also the mother; of one of
the girls on that team!I used to have to stand behind the fence ;behind;Home Plate because;when she was umpiring;and my daughter was pitching;she called everything;in favor;of her kids team!Kids weren't taught good sportsmanship;they were taught that winning;at all costs;was what mattered. All thats been
on the news here;lately;is the brawl;among parents;at a youth
hockey game!Started by mothers and continued by fathers!I used
to pitch hardball and know how a kid feels;when their strike is called a ball!It can steer their whole life! They're are even kids;in
Texas;where youth football;is deemed so important;as to flunk; a
kid;so that he can play another year!(He's bigger;because he's
older) Irish
P.S.Climbs;creakily;down from soapbox!

Thanks Aquaman!!
That would certainly make for an exciting Conference Finals, wouldn't it?? The fans here in the Detroit area are really split on whether it would be better for the Wings to play the Av's or the Sharks. I'm undecided too.
I do know the League and the the TV networks would be absolutely thrilled with a Detroit/Colorado match !!!

I agree Steph, I'd love to see an Canadian team in the finals too.
Oh, and BTW, Ottowa, although they had a team waaaaay back when, was not part of the Original 6. So the question about their current incarnation is moot.
And to tell you the truth, between Montreal and Toronto, I'd rather see Toronto in the finals, especially if Detroit makes it.
What an exciting Finals that would be!! (And wouldn't Don Cherry be beside himself??)

Classiest AND cutest! His home town of Nepean (just outside Ottawa) already named their rink after him.
I do love Don Cherry but am still torn between Ottawa and Toronto!

I'm familiar with Nepean. My husband has family in the area. Some of his ancestors were from many of the small towns around Ottawa.
Don Cherry is something else! I love him until he goes overboard on his ultra-super-Canadian rants. (Nothing against Canadians, PLEASE!! I LOVE CANADA!!)

Don Cherry can be hard to take, I have to agree, though nothing is as hard to take as this bone-crushing first period in the final game of the Montreal/Carolina series! 4-0 in the first period! Augh!!!! It's now 5-0!!!!!

It was indeed game 7
I had an early day so I only watched the first period - it was painful enough. Thanks for the cheers, Sugarsprinkles.
Tonight's another nail biter - game 7 of Ottawa/Toronto.
Er, what's Dinotopia?

Dinotopia is a new mini-series on ABC...sort of like Planet of the Apes only with dinosaurs. Great computer animation, but the story line leaves a lot to be desired.
So sorry Montreal lost the series! I watched til the bitter end.
And it looks like the Av's live to fight another day. (damn!! LOL)
Whoever survives that series will either be quite tired or on a roll when the next round starts. And the Wings will have had a week to either rest up or rust up. Let's hope the week off works to their benefit. This next round will be one hell of a series!!
I will most definitely be watching the T.O./Ottawa game tonight!
One thing about it, at least we can be sure a Canadian team will win the series...LOL GO LEAFS!!! (God, did I really say that??? )

LOL SugarSprinkles!! Detroit sure has an edge here! It seems like they won weeks ago!
Go Sens go!
But, no matter who wins tonight, I'll be cheering for them in the next round. Gotta stick with a Canadian team until the bitter end.

Can't blame you there, Steph! I'm just hoping whichever team wins tonight also wins the next round. But then, if Carolina makes it to the finals, we know they don't stand a chance! LOL!!
