No. More stars than you can dream about was an island on a lake in Indonesia 30 years ago. The closest light source was a 100w bulb 6 miles away. There did not appear to be any other light source to the horizon. I've never seen anything like it and there are probably few places left in the world so devoid of artificial light to experience it now.
It was actually a bit scary going outside--I felt like I was being crushed by all the stars.
Found this thread and it made me remember when I was 16!
I was living with my cousins for the summer and had to go to church with them every sunday! While I didn't really want to go I didn't mind because the Preachers Daughter was soooooo HOT! One Sunday she was singing in front of the whole church...but my mind was not where everyone else's was! I was enjoying a fantasy of her! After she was finished I quickly got up and almost ran to the restroom! Lock in the stall I took care of business twice! After the second time I was shaking and could barely stand up...when I left the restroom the Preacher was standing outside talking to a couple of members...the glare he gave me! I am sure he new what I was doing and why! My aunt never made me go to church the rest of the summer.
In the woods along I45 North near Huntsville TX, I let my thoughts wonder one day and got all hot and bothered and had to release myself. So I put on my 4-ways and off into the woods I went.
