Enquiring minds want to know.....

for those ladies who have experience of these things, when did you first know you were pregnant?

Did you have any symptoms before your first missed period?

Did you 'feel' any different?

When did you start experiencing morning sickness, if at all?

I'm interested to know what to expect when the time comes.....

1. 1rst time, unsure (was really young). 2nd time, moment of conception (never carried to term).

2. Yep...boobs felt unusually sore.

3. Not at first the first time...but then I started "nesting" which gave it away to a few around me even before I knew for sure.

4. 1rst time I was puking and passing out all over the place the first couple months (even in roll call class during the Pledge of Allegiance). 2nd time I only carried to beginning of second month and no morning sickness.

LOL @ 'Auntie Lixy Pixie'!

So it sounds like it's pretty different for everyone....I'm always intrigued by people who say they 'just know'....surely if you're trying to get pregnant wishful thinking is going to be a factor.....

I didn't know...was told I would never have any, even by a fertility specialist. I went to have blood work done to have my gall bladder removed this past Valentines day. The hospital called me back saying I couldn't have surgery becaue my blood showed I was pregnant. I was just a couple weeks to a month pregnant. I was fine physically until about 2 weeks later it hit me hard. For 4 1/2 months I had morning sickness big time. I was sent right away to have ultrasounds, bloodwork, etc due to a bad history, so we knew all the details early on. After all the worries and sickness I now have the most beautiful baby girl.
Probably more info than you wanted....I'm just still a proud mamma!

1. I "just knew" and was not trying to get pregnant. I think I knew when I was about 3 weeks along, I just felt different & had this gut feeling that's what it was.
2. I has a little stomach uneasyness (probably nerves from worrying I was)
3. Everything felt different, some good & some not so good. Overall I really enjoyed being pregnant
4. Morning sickness from me was 24/7 from about 1 1/2 months until 5 months.

sore boobs and nipples...when i'd travel down stairs i'd have to hold my boobs so they didn't jiggle, lol. queasiness from coffee, chocolate and smokes, especially in the AM at first but after about a month and a half it was all day every day. cramps that weren't really period cramps, just twinges of pain. sensitive to smells...coffee and raw meat at the market especially; i couln't go anywhere near those aisle. increased sex drive. all of this was before my first missed period. after about 4 months, it was all the same stuff but on top of it i had heart burn soooo bad i wanted to cry. i personally ate enough tums to keep the tum's execs in high style for the rest of their lives.

Congrats! How wonderful!!! (Made me tear up!)

------------------------------------------------

Had morning sickness (that lasted ALL day!) with 1st for 2 months, none with the second.
Had cravings both times for chocolate pudding and peanut butter, not together, just as seperate things.
With 1st I knew I was, with 2nd it took the missed period to know.
With 1st couldn't stand the smell of frying onions, nothing bothered me with 2nd.
I have seasonal allergies, while pregnant with both my allergies did not bother me!!

...and Proud you should be! She's absolutley BEAUTIFUL!!!! And she's lucky to have you as her mamma!

sorry Lou, stole the thread for a moment.

I knew that i was PG when i first started having dizzy spells. I was standing in the middle of a friend's livingroom and got very dizzy and had to sit. I had a feeling that i might be PG, because my son's father and i weren't always careful with using condoms....I went out, bought a test and took it at my friend's place. I came out of the bathroom crying and my friend asked what was wrong and I blurted out " (Insert Ex's Name here) is gonna be a Daddy!" Took me almost a week later to tell the Ex that he was going to be a daddy!

Otherwise, i had sore boobs and nipples and wanted a Star Trek Force Field put up and around them so NOTHING touched them. the first trimester of both of my pregnancies i was ill 24/7, but after that i did well, even actually enjoying the feeling of being PG.

Those first little flutter's of movement from the babe within makes all the discomforts and illnesses feel like nothing.

there is an excellent book called "What to Expect When You Are Expecting" I am not sure if it is over there in the UK, but if it is, I highly reccommend it.
