Wines

Any suggestions for a good wine to have with a nice candlelit dinner before some room shaking sex?

Reds or whites, doesn't matter. Just curious what you all prefer.

I'm a sucker for a good Pinot Grigio, or a deep Pinot Noir.

I recently had some red wine that I loved. It is not this one but if you read the description it is very similar to the one that I had. The characteristics were much like this wine. It was truly devine.

I usually get White Zinfandel..it's smooth and not to dry..and makes your knees quiver after you've finished a big bottle.

(Zinfandel is a red grape but its juice is white. By putting the juice in contact for a short while with the skins, it creates a blush color.)

Another of my favs is SawMill Creek..Canadian product.

(Sawmill Creek is a rich, well balanced wine with the distinctive bouquet and complex lingering taste that is typical of fime Chardonnays. It is a dry wine with a crisp clean finish complemented by subtle oak aging.)

Both those wines are panty removers for me!

I oft-enjoy a bottle of Chateau de Blitz. ….. Perhaps a little something from the vintage “Thursday”?

seeing that I am in the finger lakes area in NY I like the local wines here. I'm partial to a Pinot Noir or a nice Cabernet Sauvignon (sp?). The wine in this area has come a long way from what it was even as shortly as 7 or 8 years ago (though not all of it, there is still a good amount of swill). Now some of them are as good, if not better, than some of the good California wines.

Figures I would find this after I posted about wines in another forum, but I really enjoy the brand YellowTail, from Australia. They are making some great wines down under. Try Yellow Tails Chardonay. Of course, you can always try Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio, but I find the YellowTail much smoother...and it can be licked from the body...=)

Try joining a ine of the month club. It made a great gift for my wife, who loves wine. She received 2 bottles a month, and each month they sent a different variety, with a little history of it. We have tried quite a nice variety, and found ones we like and dont like, white and red. And shop around on price, we found quite a difference in prices.

I agree with skipthisone for my most favourite wines, a Burglayer Schlosskapel, from the Nahr River valley, in a blue bottle; and an Ice wine, both from Peiroth Wines.

Otherwise it's a good Aussie white wine, or a Tunisian Rose.

You might check out the following web site ... lots of good information about wines and wine/food pairings. Hope it helps.

Loved the link DB!

Cobalt and I just recently discovered a German Riesling - Schmitt Sohne which runs about $10-$12 per bottle. Very smooth, not bitter, and with just a hint of sweet that isn't overpowering. I don't really go by the red, white, blush theory about pairing wines with food... if I like it, I will drink it no matter what I am eating.. .

Chey I buy that wine too! I love the blue bottle. It is great with desserts and even with fowl. My kitchen window is filled with various sized, colored bottles and when the sun comes through it makes gorgeous reflections.
