The people of a Belgian city are being encouraged to make their own blue movies for a pornography art festival next month.

An arts centre in Mechelen is behind the project which would involve the films being shown to the public for two weeks.

Prizes will be awarded for the best entries at the festival which will also feature porn workshops, live acts, exhibitions and talks on porn.

Organiser Ann Verschueren told Het Laatste news: "We want to encourage citizens to be very creative with porn.

"We like shots from people making love to each other but a movie of a woman doing the laundry in an erotic way would be fine as well."

Frank Nobels, Mechelen's alderman of cultural affairs, said he supported the festival.

"Even our own cultural centre is playing a major part in it. And it¹s for adults only. We won¹t allow people younger than 18 to come and have a look.

"I don¹t see the majority of our citizens suddenly starting to make porn movies. But it is a fine event to happen once and than never again."
