No, leopard geckos (_Eublepharus macularius_) are from central Asia-northern India, Pakistan, Iran, that area. You're probably thinking of the also-popular bearded dragons (_Pogona vitticeps_).

There is a world of difference between geckos and dragons, I have both in my yard.
I don't know where i got the idea that leopards were Oz, but I had read a reference which said that leopards and beardies were desert creatures. I read that as the same desert LOL.
