From the male perspective I would consider such an act as just that, an act of breaking the hymen.

Depends on your definition of virginity

But from that point of view then we can say no, a woman cannot really take a virginity it is just the act of ripping a piece of skin.

Virginity is between the ears, not between the legs. Having said that, anyone over the legal age is better off without it.
