Your Pixie radio station

A long time ago I used to imagine what it'd be like to have/run my own radio station (this was the mid-late 80s, before everyone and their dog could do Internet Radio)...At first I was just going to do pop/variety gunk, then I decided on classical (not that there are many of those left)...

I dunno if I would now or not...

But I found Lilith's on a bumper sticker in traffic the other morning and it made me think of it. I don't know if she cares for the genre of music they play, but I know she'll like the name:

WWHP 98.3 FM - The Whip

We used to have a college station that played classical. I just wish it was still around. It was one of my favorite stations.

Purdue's does (last I checked), and UArk at Fayetteville does (last I checked). The college station in town here is pop/variety, and the one up at the Jr. College where I'm doing classes right now at night has a jazz station.

Mine would be all folk, I think, mainly because there's not enough folk on commercial broadcasting.

Alright you atomic dog, this is a man’s world that should be full of love and happiness. We need some classic and jazz too.

My radio station would be modeled after the NPR or PACIFICA stations with programmes not found elsewhere.Discussions, news,NO advertisments...ever and the music would be from call in requests,it could be anything my listeners want to hear.Pretty eclectic choices I'm sure.

You want eclectic, you should try to make sense of my CD collection sometime
(link available through my profile, natch).

Several of the bands only people who were in the Illinois/Indiana indie music scene in the mid 90s will have heard of.

Well, on a whim, I just loaded up my CD player with 18 J.S. Bach CD's. I'm skipping the 4 Glenn Gould Goldberg variation recordings, because I've played those to death recently, and I'm skipping the 4 passions, because I tend to only listen to those during Lent....
Still no where near complete though.
