Well, I was going to do another test this morning with a first morning sample, but since I woke up about 10 minutes ago (4:30am) with a violent urge to pee and gasping for a drink, I thought I'd better do it now.
The line is even fainter than yesterday (I mean REALLY faint) but it's definitely there....all the tests I've looked at (apart from the one I've happened to use this time) seem to say it doesn't matter how dim the line is as long as it's there, so I'll probably do the test again at the weekend before I go to the docs, just in case I've got it all wrong!

Have managed to get a much nicer line this morning! That's good because it also means that everything is still developing and that my body is producing more and more of the right hormones.
Will be ringing the doc's when they open. Am a little scared about that...I know it's pathetic, but I HATE having blood taken. Last time I nearly passed out and then threw up!

Oh i am right with you on the passing out and throwing up. The sight of my blood coming from a wound or needle prick that i can see--Boom! i am out and waking up nauseated. Just don't look, and if you can, be lying down. The nurses are always good about letting me lay down if i tell them i am a fainter.
Good luck!

Just look at what you have to look forward to....morning sickness, making him go get that special something you just have to eat no matter the time of day or night, all those special photos, gaining all that weight, having a new line of clothes you only get to wear every now and then, all the extra pills you get to take, the multiple trips to the doctor, all the parties, that special day when one more time you get to have some strange man between your legs in a sterile environment reaching in and telling you to push, the joy of birth......and that's just in the next few months. We won't even talk about all the poopy diapers staring you in the face for the next few years!
Kids - you gotta love em. Congrats and I pray all goes well and that everyone is healthy through this whole beautiful and wonderful experience.

Musicman - thanks for the good wishes - *fingers crossed* everything will go smoothly.
lizzardbits - evan when I don't look I still go light headed. I'm not good with anything medical actually, so God knows how I'm going to cope with the next few months!!!!!!
bare4you - *puts fingers in ears* la la laaaaa....la la laaaa! Trying to focus on the positive stuff for now.

I did'nt have morning sickness or cravings but I had other problems I won't tell you about if you don't like needles. If I wanted to have another child I would have to do these things again but it would still be worth it.
Being pregnant is a wonderful thing even with some of the yucky stuff that goes with it. It's exciting and scary all at the same time but when you feel the baby move for the first time it makes you relize the great gift god gave you.
And as far as giving birth, you won't care who is in the room as long as the baby comes out soon.
Congrats again Lou..........enjoy life's little treasure!

That's exactly the attitude I'm going to try to adopt. I really want to experience all of this stuff, despite the fact that I'm scared....I'm looking forward to reaching each milsetone safely, and I'm trying to use this as real motivation to be as healthy and happy as I can be, because it's not just me it affects from now on.
As far as what you said about giving birth is concerned, I don't have any qualms about being examined physically and who sees me in a state of undress, so I can't say that side of it bothers me at all. Yes it's undignified, but then again, that's part and parcel of being female (going for Pap smears etc) so I'm not really too worried about that side of things.

couple of tips on having blood drawn:
- if required to fast before the blood drawing make your dr appt very first thing possible in the morning.
- take something with you to eat, and eat immediately after the blood drawing - a cookie?
- ask them to use the smallest needle possible - in the states they have "butterfly" needles and these are typically used on children.
- make certain the nurse doing the bloodwork is aware of your problems - they will try to make it as easy on you as possible.
