I use premium in my motorcycle;medium octane in my cars & regular in my Plow Vehicle(350cu in 79 Blazer) and regular in my
riding lawnmower/plow and my push snowblower.Amid all of the confusion;I don't know what they all cost.I just know that;unless
it's outrageous;if I need it I buy it.I used to worry about the price;
but you have to buy it.People have asked me what I get for mileage on;for instance;my motorcycle.I tell them that I never checked it.I'm a mechanic. If I'm using to much gas;I'll know that it's not running right;long before I get gas! Irish

we pay $AUD0.95/litre at the moment. in the last few months it has been as high as $1.05 and as low as $0.85

octane rating is about 92 I think. You can only buy unleaded petrol here these days.

Paying $1.24, I used to be a big 93 octane buyer with no ethanol. Last month when I bought my new car and was reading the owners manual (yes i read the whole thing) it was completely against using anything above 87, said after lots of studies there are little to no benefits using it, so I am not giving an extra $.20 per gallon to the oil companies any more.

STO---The octane of the gas that you use;should be based on the
compresson of your engine. Before the 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Loredo(sp?)that I just got for my wife;I bought her a new 1999
Pontiac Grand Am GT.It had a Ram Air V6 engine. The dealer said
that you could use Regular 87 octane in it.I never did.I would hate
to see the inside of the engine if I did. They'll tell you anything to
make a sale.When we bought it;the salesman;told my wife;all kinds of wrong things.My best friends father&granfather owened
the Pontiac dealership;in my home town.I was working with their
Head Mechanic;when I was 12.It's a good thing that I was with
her because I knew more(mechanically)about the car then the
salesman did! Irish
P.S.I love Pontiacs!

Up here in Ontario eh! Gas prices are cheaper during the week than on the weekends!

Usually during the week 65 to 68 cents a litre and on weekends depending whether it is a long weekend or a regular one it can go as high as 84 cents.....pisses me right off to say the least!
I guess they bring in special blends for the weekends.

IAKG is the queen of bumps LOL

We are paying $0.96 a litre here at the moment.
Woolworths run a customer loyalty program that can get you 4 cents a litre off.

Whilst there is a disparity in exchange rates a dollar is a dollar to you where you live.

The Aussie dollar has gained since this thread started and is now
worth 78 cents US or 1.0 USD = 1.28465 AUD
whereas in November 2002 1.0 USD = 1.68598524 AUD

Thanks to PF for his contributions to the calculations

Its good news for me on my trip, my money will buy more

Regular/87 octane averages around $1.70 a gallon. (self-serve)

It varies up or down by maybe 5 cents or so, at different gas stations.
