Legal
Web developer here (among many other things).

mine, meaning i purchased the pictures, or I downloaded it off other websites.

Did you mean to say you went to a porn wholesaler on line and bought rights to show those pictures? Just "downloading" pictures isn't the same. I believe usually you have to have some kind of contract. Especially with the more professional pictures I haves seen in your page.
Might check into it before you get the ol legal notices :b .
Get some graphics into that page! Also start bugging your teacher about teaching some CSS. Tables are sooo gone. (and with CSS you can have layers... sweeet). Are you handcoding or using WYSIWYG?
Does Angelfire have some legal about posting nudity on their service? I thought most of these free types did.
On and is this class a university/ccollege? I have never heard of an instructor allowing this. Wow, must be a really open-minded group.

Hi Traci
A good start, the others have already offered lots of good advice so I won't overload you. I'm interested to see how it will develop so will keep checking back. Can't see a pic of you on it though

okay...well thanks for the legal advice. i have already checked out a few things. first off, since i am not making any money from the site i was informed that if any of the models saw their pictures on my site and were upset, i would net be legally pursued, they would ask me to remove them. as for angelfire, i looked through their codes of conduct and did not see anything. i am not harming anyone with my site and as soon as i hand in the codes and the link, it will be promptly removed. and as for your little irrelevant question as to whether it was a college or university, its a university. **if i am reported to angelfire, i will know who reported me.

Copyright
Traci I hate to burst your bubble, but working in a university and other places with copyright.. let me explain.
The images do not belong to the models. They initially belong to the photographer who took them (go ask the photography department-they will explain). Now the company who purchased the photo now owns them (lets say playboy). To reshow these images permission must be obtained from playboy.
I think your instructor is giving bad advice.. go ask the university copyright department and they can explain. Don't worry though, I have had plenty of instructors who are ignorant of the laws tell me things, that I found out later were illegal. The only possible way you could get away with this for any duration of time is to do it on a University computer that has a pswd to enter that site. Your instructor should have the resources to set this up. Having it this way will halp prove that you are only doing it for educational purposes, and you are not displaying it to the general audience.
As for legal notice.. here is the problem. They won't only contact you they will contact Angelfire who will take down the site right away, getting them to put it back up when they see how many other pictures you have could be a serious problem.
If Kim has time see if she can give you some more advice since this site is a sex based one. But from my experience/knowledge your asking for trouble.
Besides you could fill the site instead with pictures of you. Everyone likes Amateur sex sites versus "Im completly faking it..look how much they airbrushed my face"

Question
Is the object of the exercise to show you can create and
run a porn site, or to actually do it?
If the pictures are the sticking (no pun intended) point,
replace them with card faces or see if SFC will do some sketches
for you to maintain the essential eroticism.
Maybe we're focussing on the pictures and not on the site
mechanisms.

Very nice site....
and I think everyone has covered everything pretty well so all I have to say is keep the the good work and if nurseing doesnt work out its looks like you may have a new line of work.
One thing I was dissappointed in was that I didnt see any pics of you!

Relax...
You're not likely to have a copyright issue... In the first place, there are no copyright police. While the details given regarding copyright law are probably technically accurate, there is also an exception allowed for limited use of material for "educational purposes." (Probably what your prof is alluding to.) I'd be the last person to suggest "stealing" another's work, but given the total situation - especially the temporary nature of the site - I don't think you'll go to jail.
It would be nice if you could credit the real owner of the photos, but it would probably take you 3 years to find out who it is.
Now that I've got you relaxed, could I interest you in...
Seriously... not sure what your instructor is actually looking for (creativity? technical accuracy?) in grading... I did find one broken link. (on the bottom lesbianpg_1.htm). I also got confused over which index I'd go back to... the "home page" or the section index.
It sure was nice not to be asked for a credit card.

Complliments & Advice
First Congratulations!!
I taught web design a few years back and would have been impressed if one of the students had actually taken the time to do something like what you've done.
In the sense of the teacher the only advice I would make is to clarify the "back to main page" on the third level (where the pictures actually are). I would have docked points for not going where it indicated. Maybe just put "Back."
As a web developer I would suggest consistency in your page naming like using all lowercase (Ex. bothpg_1.html). It bit me in the butt when I switched servers once. And don't pay attention to anyone that tells you how the future will be, unless it's your professor of course. Example, I was told two years ago HTML would be gone by now as a web language.
Knowing the requirements for the assignment might help you get the best feedback.
Anyway, great job on building a solid and well functioning web page!
