I don't have an answer for you, anythinggoes. But I can definately vouch for the phenomenon....British accents have always slayed me. A fact that is particularly problematic, now that I live here .
And for the record...I find it a crying shame that it doesn't work in reverse!! |

I used to be really attracted to British accents. I thought they sounded so sophisticated and refined. Numerous hours of Britcoms and one trip to England later... It ain't so hot! It's sounds kinda countryish to me now.
I still love a good Irish accent. Perhaps I need to stay away from Ireland then. lol!

I love Southern Irish accents and , of course the Glasgow accent is cute~~~~as long as it isn't too "ned~ish!"
