Reading the news and all those innocent lives lost (20 kids and 7 adults). Just heartbreaking.
Reports say the gunman was known to the school and was buzzed-in shortly before the shooting at about 9:30am local time.
The poor person who opened up the gates of hell. |
He was the son of one of the teachers (whom he went there to kill)
Conflicting details still coming from media at this late moment but those will eventually be sorted. The tragedy is another wack-job went off and if any kind of innocent killing can be worse than another, the loss of children make it the ultimate sin against man.
:tear: |
Very, very tragic in CT. Wow. My heart just feels for those people.
they were just babies...............
No Coaster, this was worse. These kids had grown to be thinking, loving, arguing, playing, fighting explosions of potential. Parents and friends had time to bond with these people to a depth babies can't reach. Loss of babies is horrible, but the loss of these children was so much harder. What's worse, being crushed by a 100 ton rock or a 1000 ton rock? Dunno, I'm trying to put into words shit that we shouldn't have to know.

Noble attempt my friend to find logic in insanity, but you fail as surely as all the "experts" who are expounding right now. It's just WRONG!

It makes me sad that people are saying he had autism like it is the cause of his decisions. That is not how autism works. It is going to increase the problems for people on the spectrum I fear.

I just finished reading about the principle whose husband was over 20 years older and how he had fallen madly in love with her. He asked her five times to marry him before she said yes. Then he built her a dream home that she would live in long after he had died. Now he sits without her and the dreams and plans forever changed. Her brave attempt to stop this tragedy will live on. :(

We need evil to remind us how good the good can be in the world, but why does the evil need to be so bad?
Oldfart,
You're asking difficult questions again. Good for you. |
Perhaps my sig should be "Calm, quiet, smooth, devastating, difficult".

There are many worse ways to be identified.

11+ hours in the local ER with my BIL because one of his PICC lines had a blood clot in it. Since his condition was not critical, he kept missing the triage cutoff.
General Hospital re-runs on the TV?
While also boring, those episodes have the redeeming value of being relatively brief.

My sweet girl passing away. 2012 has not been my year.

Two funerals this weekend. The wife of a very good friend (who has Alzheimers) passed away; and, a friend of more than 40 years from down in Decatur also died. My wife and I made the visitations for both and the funeral for the wife. Unfortunately, we can't get back down to Decatur today, so I'm glad we made it yesterday.
What do you say, let's call a moratorium on transitions for a while. :wish: |
It's out of our hands, old friend.
Thanks, OF. You're right, of course. Your friendship means a lot to us. God bless!

Now my other kiddo. Poor baby has the flu really really bad. 103 fever, has not eaten for 2.5 days, says everything hurts. I hate not being able to fix things.
Poor little bugger. Give him our love.

I am distressed that some people truely have not a fucking brain in their heads.....just witnessed 2 dogs left in a vehicle in 30C heat for over 30 min....WTF?? There are warning everywhere about leaving ANYTHING in a parked vehicle can end with horrific results.....seeing dogs in heat distress is anything but pleasant!!
Either call the appropriate authorities for animal abuse, or break the window out and leave a nice little note that you rescued their animals from the oppressive heat.
Windows were open, LS, but under a radiating hot roof, the mutts were still in trouble.
I did try to call a few someones to assist, but being Sunday no answer. Windows were open, but unsure on dog friendliness, and legal recourse of grabbing someones dogs, i know its a bloke who owns the dogs and personal safety is also an issue.
Its very distressing to see an animal suffering, i would not be suprised if those dogs get home and just tossed in the back yard again. They were very clearly distressed, massive drooling and panting for all they were worth. I did not like the helplessness i felt nor the fact i was watching these poor animals die....as i said distressing I couldnt do nothing, i just dont feel i did enough for them, i feel horrid to be honest. I dont want to have to go through that ever again |
Knowing I have the beginnings of the flu now too.
I'm sick as well. We need to start a Pixies infirmary at this rate.
I'm lucky my virus filters are active.

Why don't we all pick roles to play at the infirmary ... dibs on being they gyneocologist! :D |
ENT, mainly T, for me.
I'm sad because I'm about to leave to get a crown on a tooth and give my dentist an outrageous amount of money that should be going for pretties in my new house. :(
I got some news yesterday that really didnt sink in until today....but i am trying my hardest to let it fully play out before i hit panic mode
getting it confirmed last night that I have the FLU! ICK!!
All 3 of us at my house have confirmed cases too and my #1 Most Honorable Son has not developed secondary infections in both ears.
