Plainly and simply, you don't need a furnace in the tropics. Told her once, told her twice . . . .

Maybe she's right. It drops below 60F in the depths of winter.

The poor workers at the gas plant in Tavares, Florida.

The news is still breaking, but it's not looking good.

sodaklostsoul 08-05-2013 08:10 PM

Not sure when I will have internet at new place.

sodaklostsoul 08-06-2013 07:22 PM

Moving put on hold, gotta clean too much!!!! YUCK!!!

jseal 08-06-2013 07:25 PM

Yeah, that’s one (of the many) downsides to moving. Hang in there! You’ll get moved!

dicksbro 08-10-2013 01:49 AM

Actually ... yesterday ... when a plumber's van ran a stop sign and pretty well destroyed our Olds Achieva. :( We're okay, but the car looks in bad shape. :(

Lord Snow 08-10-2013 07:33 AM

That seriously sucks DB. Glad you're okay. Don't worry to much about the vehicle though. Not like it was important like a Ford (j/k LOL).

jseal 08-10-2013 10:17 AM

dicksbro,

It's good to read that you and yours weren't injured. Sorry about your Achieva.

dicksbro 08-11-2013 04:07 AM

Thanks. We're okay.

Lilith 08-13-2013 07:00 AM

My friends' daughter died last year and they just decided to have her service. It feels so raw again.

Oldfart 08-13-2013 07:45 AM

It is necessary, Lil. It is very hard to manage grief without a point of farewell.

jseal 10-21-2013 05:35 PM

Dearsweet's in the Emergency Room.

BIBI 10-21-2013 06:30 PM

Hope everything will be alright jseal!

BIBI 10-21-2013 06:31 PM

Snow in Manitoba this morning.....big fluffy wet snow covering everything! :p :p

Ouch! Please keep us informed.

Jseal, terribly sorry to hear that. Of course, she's in our prayers. Like OF said, please, keep us informed. :wish:

jseal 10-22-2013 05:17 AM

She was admitted late last night. More tests today.

jseal 10-22-2013 03:40 PM

Thanks to some serious antibiotics, Dearsweet is recovering nicely.

(so I suppose this post should be in a different thread)

BIBI 10-22-2013 08:47 PM

Yes jseal, that is good news. Seems to be a horrible cold/cough/infection going around up here too.

Sadness for me was missing out on a beautiful vintage piece of marcasite jewelry on e-bay today.

WildIrish 10-23-2013 02:09 PM

Cuz it's today.

Lilith 10-23-2013 03:00 PM

STO would have been 41 today. It's bittersweet now instead of painful.

Oldfart 10-23-2013 08:27 PM

:(

Pita 10-24-2013 09:06 AM

Looking over at my very sick hubby and wishing he would get better.

How chilly it has gotten and damp and rainy too lol.

AZRedHot 10-29-2013 10:27 PM

My band didn't get selected for an annual big deal gig we really wanted to be a part of.

Oldfart 10-30-2013 04:50 AM

Bummer AZRH.

WildIrish 10-31-2013 10:56 AM

I woke up in the middle of a great sex dream and it morphed into something weird when I fell back asleep.

And crashing the party would probably get you arrested. The only down side to that is, I'm not the cop.

BIBI 11-03-2013 02:49 PM

How some people are insensitive assholes towards others. That is what made me sad today.....

I don't have to crash it...I can buy a ticket like all the rest of the civilians. :p

But I'd still let you frisk me. At least. ;)

What made me sad today is that my music partner's Missus was sent to the hospital by her doc. I haven't heard if they found anything, but that's never a good sign.

BIBI 11-05-2013 10:28 AM

Groceries or lack of them make me sad for I dislike grocery shopping, yet it must be done, I guess, maybe...damn.

dicksbro 11-05-2013 03:48 PM

A young lady that was the daughter of a good friend had cancer surgery when I first had my colon surgery 4.5 years ago. She was right across the hall from me.

In the short term there was some optimism, but, the cancer returned and gradually won out. She passed away yesterday morning. :(

Some of my best birdwatching has been done grocery shopping. It's quite a lark. :)

So sad, that I only run into old buzzards........;)

Oldfart 11-06-2013 02:29 AM

Circling the prey, yes, they've read my operating manual.

BIBI 11-06-2013 08:36 AM

It's been great for lining the bird cage...;)

Oldfart 11-06-2013 08:50 AM

Swords into ploughshares.

Recycling is good.
