I hate that.

Was it told in secret spite?

Lilith 12-15-2013 11:17 PM

No. Because they know I can help.

BIBI 12-16-2013 05:42 AM

Nothing so far but it's early lol.

AZRedHot 12-16-2013 04:27 PM

A dear friend of mine is suffering severely from mental illness, and his life is falling apart because of it. He's in the hospital, and needs to stay there for a bit, but looks like his wife has had enough, and he may lose his job. I feel so useless to help him.

Oldfart 12-16-2013 06:05 PM

Times you can't even be there to pick up the pieces. Shitty, but it's life.

Lilith 12-30-2013 03:06 PM

They streamed my kiddos performance and they said they were not going to so I missed it. And I just read the whole thread about wyndhy's cancer. I'm tired of losing lovies.

BIBI 01-01-2014 12:10 PM

The freezing wind outside while walking the dog...bitter cold. I would imagine an Alberta Clipper is involved in some way! :p

BIBI 01-02-2014 12:34 PM

My blood sugar levels :tear:

Oldfart 01-02-2014 09:26 PM

You have room in your blood for sugar?

BIBI 01-02-2014 09:44 PM

No, but too much is there anyway!

WildIrish 01-03-2014 11:41 AM

So vampires need to remember to brush well after...

Oldfart 01-03-2014 06:34 PM

. . . . and floss.

Lilith 01-03-2014 07:10 PM

My son's connecting flight from JFK being cancelled and him not being able to get another until Sunday night.

Has the airline arranged warm accommodation?

Lilith 01-04-2014 12:00 AM

They are crammed 4 to a room at a La Quinta near the airport. They had nice posh rooms in London so they are sort of cramped at the end of a journey. Close quarters. They do have their luggage so at least they have coats and gloves etc.

Trying to get 50 passengers on a flight together must be a logistical nightmare.

Oldfart 01-04-2014 12:03 AM

It's almost worth the airline hiring a coach, if they can thaw one out for you.

mayhem1978 01-04-2014 12:25 AM

This is Lizz. Mayhem is out in the frozen tundra stuck in a snowdrift in a coach bus right now. the engine still runs and they are all warm in the current frigid conditions. But it looks like once all are rescued, he won't becoming home tonight. Stupid weather and it separating families anyway.... :(

I think that holiday to OZ is well overdue!!!! :)

Yep.

Fangtasia 01-04-2014 05:58 PM

You know it was hot in Oz yesterday when the wildlife is dropping dead out of the trees, mass deaths of flying foxes :(

Oldfart 01-04-2014 07:31 PM

Gaia taking care of a pest.

rabbit 01-05-2014 02:54 PM

Today is the end of my two week vacation. Back to the grind tomorrow...

Foxes PF, not monkeys.

dicksbro 01-05-2014 06:10 PM

Having the Bengals lose in the playoff. Not so much for me, but our second oldest son is an avid Bengals fan (for reasons I don't understand). But, I know he was really hoping they'd go all the way this year and won't be happy that they're out of it now. I'm sad for him. :(

BIBI 01-05-2014 11:59 PM

The lousy weather.

dicksbro 01-06-2014 01:07 PM

I agree, BIBI. It's -12F right now (noon) and I've been out shoveling five different times in the last 4 hours. I shovel for a bit but within ten minutes, even dressed very warmly, my feet, and hands are cold and I come in for a while. Probably 3 more times before I'll have the drive cleared enough to get out. Drifts are over a foot high with maybe 8" of general accumulation. :(

I'M DEFINITELY READY FOR SPRING! I don't remember a day like this since 1977-79 ... the first three years after we moved to the Peoria area. Brrrrrr. Must be that global warming acting up again.

PantyFanatic 01-06-2014 04:03 PM

Looking at the thermometer. :faint:

WildIrish 01-06-2014 04:53 PM

Looking at the thermometer.....AND the Green Bay score

My dad had a stroke yesterday. He's doing pretty well, all things considered, but he still doesn't have the use of his right side, and he's pretty pissed about that. I'm grateful that he didn't lose speech or cognition, and that he's able to be pissed about it, but it's really scary and I feel helpless.

Lilith 01-06-2014 11:26 PM

Sorry to hear that AZRH. My Favorite First Husband's dad had a stroke last May. He lost a lot of vision, and some cognitive stuff but his motor function is fine. He was released and sent home with no rehab and no therapy or services. He is so frustrated. I feel helpless too.

Hope your dad heals fast and you find ways to feel helpful.

AZRedHot 01-06-2014 11:58 PM

Thanks, Lilith. I appreciate it.

BIBI 01-07-2014 12:22 AM

Just took the dog out and I almost got blown over.....the wind is wicked tonight! It is bloody awful out and damn it, it can stay out! ;)

There are therapies to make the most of what abilities your dad has left, and hopefully the State will come to the party.

Life can be so unfunny at times.

Now, where did you put that windmill which drives the generator which runs your indoor heating?

Oldfart 01-07-2014 02:56 AM

Maybe you'd like it here. It only got up to 36.1 today.

I bet that's not the blow you really wanted huh? LOL

Lord Snow 01-07-2014 10:46 AM

AZ, I'm sure if you look you can find all kinds of helpful information on exercises to help retrain the muscles, and/or programs in your area to help out with stuff.

Fangtasia 01-07-2014 08:53 PM

I had my 3 week check up with the surgeon today, while everything went well, the surgery brought other things to light that I/or they didn't know was going on *sigh* Got it explained a bit more, but now I have to go and see another specialist...

Having a bit of a read up on what my surgeon said has me a bit down to be honest, and if I am really honest, a bit nervous. I haven't told Bilbo yet, not sure how he's gonna take the whole thing, what was simple is now it seems, not so much.

Hopefully the new specialist can shed some more light for me

Lilith 01-07-2014 09:31 PM

Knowledge is power Fang. If you want to talk, just holler.

Fangtasia 01-07-2014 09:56 PM

Yes this is true. Cant treat what you don't know about I spose, that is if treatable.

Thanx Lil *hugz*
