Lil - Those boys can't afford not to have you as their teacher. I'm sorry you're stressed, but I know that once you're settled in your training and personality will take over. (((((Lilith)))))

I'm with WI & everyone else, Lil. You can rise to this challenge & do a world of good for a lot of troubled kids. We have faith in you!

fzzy 02-06-2006 02:19 PM

Sending more hugs and positive thoughts your way Lilith .... lots of stress in job changes ... especially when you had only just started with the original one then shifted into a lot more demanding task, but you will make a wonderfully positive difference in their lives, of that I am certain!

Way to go with the weight loss for both of you Lil and Maddy ... sending many mental pats on the back!

Thanks guys! I had a great day :) It's not like being in the normal world. I am hungry but trying to stave off the munchies.

Lilith 02-06-2006 05:01 PM

BTW you guys are the best and I love you all.

Made it through another monday .... did good on my calories today, right in the middle of my goal range, so I'm happy about that ... sometimes the weekend days are so on the high end of my goal that I worry come Monday I will lose all control ... well, it didn't happen today anyway. yea!

Lilith 02-07-2006 05:34 AM

Excellent fzzy!

Just checking in. After a weekend in which I was a little more "relaxed" (actually using all of my daily points, plus some of my "flex" points I receive each week to spend as I please), I found myself "up" on the scales yesterday morning. I'm thinking maybe it was a fluke/water retention/some other excuse, though, as, while I watched what I ate yesterday and spent 30-45 minutes at the gym, I managed to "lose" that pound or so, plus a little more overnight.

I suppose in an instance like that, it's not always good to weigh myself every morning, although I'll admit to a little more motivation yesterday, maybe, because of it. For me, weighing myself every morning helps to provide focus, I think.

Hang in there, Lil...you'll figure out the things you need to do to make this work consistently before long. And congrats to fzzy and maddy and everyone else for their progress!

Still hangin in there...worked out 6 days last week. I've kinda been watching my calories, but each week I've had a day where I've totally blown it. Hence, I'm down net 4 lbs for 2 weeks and no more....but I *have* noticed that my endurance has gone up a LOT at the gym. I've increased my workout level and duration, and my heart rate is still lower when I finish than it was 3 weeks ago. I consider that a win, too.

fzzy 02-07-2006 06:13 PM

Great to hear osuche .... also, if your endurance has increase, then you've probably traded some fat weight for muscle weight which means the loss shows on the scales slower initially (since muscle actually weighs more than fat) but more muscle means more calories being burned from moment to moment, so it catches up eventually and starts burning off easier. Great to hear!

IAKG ... way to stick with it, even when it seems like not the news you want, if you lost 1+ pounds overnight, it probably was a little bit of water retention.

Another day completed successfully!

Lilith 02-08-2006 05:26 AM

woot! Feels good huh fzzy???

Today I paid up the candy bar bet I had with the boys regarding the Superbowl. I had 4 of my fave candy bars left. I gave 1 each to my 3 aides and wrestled with eating the last. I was saved by a behavior specialist who walked in the door and was rewarded with the last bar. :D

maddy 02-08-2006 06:34 AM

Good for you fzzy and Lilith!

The scale and I are not going to be friends this week. I've been staying within my point range, even if some of the choices I'm making are not the best ones. The scale is either showing early signs of PMS or reflecting the bad choices I've made.

fzzy 02-09-2006 02:29 AM

Thanks Lil and Maddy.

Way to make a great choice Lil!!

Hang tough maddy .... it will improve as you stick it out .... I felt discouraged almost all of last week, but just kept reminding myself that I don't want to go back to how bad it had gotten in my life, want to have improvements!!!

I was fine all day today, then this evening something hit me and I am feeling quite lethargic, achy, and trading back and forth between chills and fever (or both) ... I ate enough to stick in my daily limits, but nothing tasted particularly good, except the fresh taste of the jello. It literally took me over 2 hours to prepare and then eat my dinner ... now I'm getting ready for bed ... am feeling a bit better now, but that could be because I'm swimming in Ibuprophen at the moment :) Tomorrows a new (and will be a better) day. :)

Maddy, I think if you are staying in your point range, you're still doing okay. I was reading something at the WW site the other day about the "science" behind the program. I mean, the whole thing is that you have X number of points per day (corresponding to a calorie level, in all actuality), and you get to choose how those points are used. Human nature would dictate that you would naturally gravitate towards those foods low in points, so that you could eat more quantity-wise. However, that doesn't preclude the fact that, from time-to-time, a little treat or two is in order.

That being said, I, too, am not going to be friends with the scale this week. My weigh-in is tomorrow morning, and, while I've gone over three or four days on points, I am still well within my range, as I have 17 flex points still left that I could technically use before weigh-in. Still, I am going to be surprised if I lose at all this week. I'm crossing my fingers nonetheless for a half-pound at least.
