Dear Osama Bin Laden, Yasser Arafat, & Sadam Hussein, et al.,
We are pleased to announce that we unequivocally accept your challenge to an old- fashioned game of Whoop-Ass. Now that we understand the rules, that there are no rules, we look forward to playing by them for the first time. Since this game is Winner-Take-All, we unfortunately are unable to invite you to join us at the victory celebration. But rest assured that we will toast you - - LITERALLY. While we admit that you are off to an impressive lead, it is however, now our turn at the plate. By the way, we will be playing on your court, now. Batter Up! Sincerely, The 270,000,000 citizens of the UNITED STATES of AMERICA. |
....
Yassir Arafat and Sadam Hussein have pledged to support the USA and have condemned the actions of the terrorists in the US on 11th September.

I heard ;on the radio(WRKO) this morning; that they
are now investigating;the possiblity;that Saddam may have monitarily(sp)backed the terrorists! Irish |
TRUST?
Trust this guy Sadam Hussein ?
I don't think so! |
Terrorist
m45---Did you ever notice that Saddam and all of these other guys;that have US backing and weapons;are "Freedom Fighters"
when they are on our side but they are Torrorists when the weapons are used against us!When will this Govt. learn?I know that I;for one;didn't crawl around in the jungle, get wounded, and have many; of my buddies;mentally screwed up so that this could happen.Oh,the ignorance of youth! Irish |
..
Irish - I'm with you on that one. People seem to be forgetting that the US govt. helped to install the Taliban in Afghanastan because they thought that they would keep the area settled regardless of how the Taliban have treated the ordinary citizens of the country.

FROM AN AMERICAN COUSIN
The following text was sent to me by one of my American cousins. I thought it would be appropriate to post it here.
THE GREAT WALL --An American Dream !!!!! Three guys, a Canadian, Osama Bin Ladin and Uncle Sam are out walking together one day. They come across a lantern and a Genie pops out of it. "I will give each of you each one wish, that's three wishes total," says the Genie. The Canadian says, "I am a farmer, my dad was a farmer, and my son will also farm. I want the land to be forever fertile in Canada." With a blink of the Genie's eye, 'POOF' the land in Canada was forever made fertile for farming. Osama Bin Ladin was amazed, so he said, "I want a wall around Afganistan, so that no infidels, Jews or Americans can come into our precious state." Again, with a blink of the Genie's eye, 'POOF' there was a huge wall around Afganistan. "Uncle Sam" (A former civil engineer), asks, "I'm very curious. Please tell me more about this wall." The Genie explains, "Well, it's about 15,000 feet high, 500 feet thick and completely surrounds the country; nothing can get in or out---virtually impenetrable." "UncleSam" says, "Fill it with water." |

A POEM WRITTEN BY A CANADIAN
This poem was originally posted on Sept. 20th, however I understand that some have had difficulty accessing it. So I am posting it here in its full text.
September 11th, 2001. Manhattan, New York State, U.S.A. "An Evil Deed" To seek within our mind, within the depth of knowledge. Through many years of experiences, over and over again. Explanation for this dastardly act, that totally disregarded life. We find ourselves searching for the proper words of expression. A deed as cowardly as this, with total disregard for humanity, can only be described as an act so evil in thought, so evil in mind, so disturbing, that one does not even want to go there. Yet go there we must, finding the words needed to express ourselves we must, look into the very depths of horror we must. We have seen the remnants of war, the bodies of the dead buried. The limbless bodies of those who survived, the sightless eyes, within a human body waiting to die, among these living dead, are no heroes, just destroyed lives. We have walked among these living dead. Felt the sorrow of wasted lives, yet even from their battered selves, We have been given a light of hope, because of their contribution to life. There was reason there, they made us see, that life was worth their sacrifice, from them, We found the strengths to go forward into life again. Those who perpetrated this horrific deed, even in the giving of their lives, can only be looked upon as being from the very depths of humanity. Let us not become like them. Let them carry into eternity, the deed that is theirs. For they were dead, long before their execution of this horrific deeed. All of the innocent lives that were taken on this day, should symbolize our freedom of choice, liberty, self determination, for all human beings. Thus washing away the evil perpetrated upon them, upon humanity this day. GST;September 16th, 2001 |

Sept. 11th, 2001 - A Poem
Two thousand one, nine eleven
by Paul Spreadbury Two thousand one, nine eleven Five thousand plus arrive in heaven As they pass through the gate, Thousands more appear in wait A bearded man with stovepipe hat Steps forward saying, "Let's sit; Let's chat" They settle down in seats of clouds A man named Martin shouts out proud "I have a dream!" and once he did The Newcomer said, "your dream still lives." Groups of soldiers in blue and gray Others in khaki and green then say "We're from Bull Run, Yorktown, the Maine" The Newcomer said "You died not in vain." From a man on sticks one could hear "The only thing we have to fear..." The Newcomer said, "We know the rest, trust us sir, we've passed that test." "Courage doesn't hide in caves, You can't bury freedom in a grave." The Newcomers had heard this voice before A distinct Yankee twang from Hyannisport shores A silence fell within the mist Somehow the Newcomer knew that this Meant time had come for her to say What was in the hearts of the five thousand plus that day "Back on Earth, we wrote reports, Watched our children play in sports Worked our gardens, sang our songs Went to church and clipped coupons We smiled, we laughed, we cried, we fought Unlike you, great we're not" The tall man in the stovepipe hat Stood and said,"Don't talk like that" "Look at your country, look and see You died for freedom, just like me." Then, before them all appeared a scene Of rubbled streets and twisted beams Death, destruction, smoke and dust And people working just 'cause they must Hauling ash, lifting stones, Knee deep in hell But not alone "Look! Blackman, whiteman, brownman, yellowman Side by side helping their fellow man!" So said Martin, as he watched the scene "Even from nightmares, can be born a dream." Down below three firemen raised The colors high into ashen haze The soldiers above had seen it before On Iwo Jima back in '44 The man on sticks studied everything closely Then shared his perceptions on what he saw mostly "I see pain, I see tears, I see sorrow -- but I don't see fear." "You left behind husbands and wives Daughters and sons and so many lives are suffering now because of this wrong But look very closely. You're not really gone All of those people, even those who've never met you All of their lives, they'll never forget you Don't you see what has happened? Don't you see what you've done You've brought them together, together as one." With that the man in the stovepipe had said "Take my hand," and from there he led five thousand plus heroes, Newcomers to heaven On this day, two thousand one, nine eleven G-d please everyone.
