I actually work for a great employer. While they are always gearing the business towards that eternal bottom line (but what good business doesn't?), I have always gotten the impression that they actually care about their employees. We get excellent benefits, and all of the owners/managers have an open door policy I would be comfortable taking advantage of if needed. It's a family-owned business that has grown to be a massive company, but still for the most part keeps it's family-owned values.

I should mention my employer does have great OT, sick day, & benefit packages but since they became a subsidiary for a big Amurican company we've been waiting for raises. :) Show us the money, please!

A boss who isn't such a freaking pain in the ass, a new car every year, buying me a palatial estate in Big Sur, less work and more time for pixies, .....

Oh crap, what AM I saying? I'm my own boss, so this pipedream ain't gonna happen.

Now BACK to work, dammit!!!

I heard a rumor this morning that ther might be a small raise in the next month for our department. That will be the second raise in the last five years for me, and I hope if it happens that it will be enough to pay for the $83 a month raise in insurance premiums.

Keep your fingers crossed for me please!

we"ve got pretty good benifits but would like to see more job security. They moved 40% of the work to China and plan on moving 30% more in the next year. That is if they get to the point we dont have to fix half of every thing coming back
