This isn’t the first time children’s TV has drawn the ire of Christian right wing. Remember Tinky Winky, the purple Teletubbie? That character was also claimed to be homosexual.

Right but the complaint is that a short film (not a Sponge Bob movie), involving cartoon characters, that encourages people to respect sexual identity among other things, was distributed to schools.
