I just returned from a pedicure. I'm worthless for the evening now.

Were they pedi-sick?

I dunno. You tell me :D

Might come from my upbringing...but Mr. Lixy constantly tells me to "pamper" myself and I just can't justify it so I back-peddal and tell him, "I can manicure/pedicure just as good as anyone else can"!

I've had manicures (acrylic...4 times) and I find that my natural nails have become damaged from the work. Despite the fact that my mom and older sis have long/strong nails, I have always had thin/splitting nails. What I'd really like to find is something that'll strengthen my natural nails without damaging them Sally Hasen is OUT! Every thing from her product line screws with the already damaged stuff and makes it worse.

But...Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I envy you girls who can get this "pampering" without remorse or need for justification.

Don't get me wrong...I know I am in the minority in "need of justification". As I said in the beginning it's stems from my upbringing and I know I have issues...even at my age!

P.S. Beautiful nails hun! Top and bottom!

Nails "Stop the Madness"

The damage to your nails is a combination of stress on the nail, chemicals (glue) and worse, FUNGUS.
I used to have long nails, and have had acrylics. The long, sleek look is gorgeous. BUT!

There was a huge scandal a few years ago when it was discovered that the rate of damage and contamination to our nails was really high, due mostly to poor steriliazation practices and uses of really harsh chemicals.

Most nail salons are poorly regulated, and they spread nail fungus around.

Go to salon where they will work with you over time to grow natural, healthy nails.
If you are like me and have a terrible diet, (too many times cooking for myself means Lean Cuisine and a salad) take vitamins.
This helps grow healthier nails.
