Update From Lixy
First of all, Lixy sends her love and appreciation for all your thoughts.
![]() Now, the latest news ... Her sister is back home but not out of the woods. It's apparently not clear if the sister even quite realizes that she's home, although when she got there, she went to sleep easily and appeared to be at peace. Lixy said she can't spell or pronounce the disease, but the doctors said that in laymen's terms it inflames the blood vessels (not ruling out mosquito contracted encephalitis). It is progressing and they want to stop it...and possibly reverse it for as much as they can. It is extremely rare and definitely fatal. The options the doctors have given are all fraught with danger and the decision is not going to be an easy one for her sister's husband. Your prayers and good thoughts are still very important to her so, please, keep them up. The stress on Lixy (and her hubby, too) is obviously very great. I'll let you know whenever I hear from her. Hugs and prayers Lixy!!!!!!

Thanks, Soda. I know that means a lot!

more hugs lixy(((hugs))). stay strong. peace and much love to you all.
|
If it's not a source of more stress, would Lixy ask the Doctors to write out the name of this disease?
But really, only if it's not a source of additional stress. No-one needs that. |
thanks for the update DB - please give her our love and prayers when you speak to her next.
(((LIXY))) |
I'll be thinking of her and her family and including them in my prayers. ((((Lixy)))))

I will certainly pass on your thoughts and good wishes to her. I know she'll take great comfort in knowing that her Pixie family cares!

Thank you so much for the update DB. Please pass on my best to them as well.
(((((Lixy & Family)))))) |
Your sister and family and you are in my thoughts and heart.

Just heard again from Lixy. Doctor's indicated that the disease is not mosquito contracted encephalitis but rather something called Agranular Cystosis which is caused as a rare side effect from some prescribed medications. There is a treatment if it's caught in time and so we'll focus our prayers on those treatments being delivered in time. Please, keep up your thoughts and prayers as well!

My thoughts and prayers go out to her and her family. Keep us posted please
|
Hopefully they've picked it.

dicksbro,
Thank you for the update. Hopefully they caught it in time. |
Hm, a search on various medical websites for "agranular cystosis" eventually resulted in some vague information on granular cytosis and the locking up of my browser window.
Shit. I'll just have to settle for sending less-informed hugs then I otherwise would have. |
