I remember several years ago when they first talked of doing it but you had to lose a certain amount first. Have you lost the weight of has it become more necessary?

Best of luck.

I'm so sorry to hear about that SS. You'll definitely be in getting my best thoughts and wishes. (((((((((SS)))))))))))

Thank you all so very, very much for the kind words, prayers and "orders." I will do what I can to get word to you all and let you know how things have gone.

Lilith, no I haven't lost the weight, but apparently it isn't an issue. Or it could be because the valve is just about closed and there's really not much of an option on getting it done. However, I am hoping that I can lose some as a by-product of my rehab, and then go on from there.

Gekkogecko, I suppose I will be able to watch hockey, assuming the Wings are on cable or if I break down and watch The Blues.

Yeah, I know, Nutworld, it's blasphemous. But then they do have Manny Legace, and it's fun to root against them. :weg:

((((Sugar)))) you have been missed. You will be in my prayers for a speedy recovery.

gekkogecko 04-03-2008 11:15 AM

Well, there's always the Habs. I'd rather not, but we know Neige will differ.

gekkogecko 04-03-2008 08:39 PM

SS: listening to the Caps' game while doing paying work tonight. Several radio ads to the effect that the Red Wings get NBC's nationally televised game Sunday to round out the season.

Hope you do get to see it.

Thanks for the "heads up" GG!! If I'm awake enough and pain-free enough, I'll definitely be watching! I'll just have to not get too excited, if the Wings are playing well. I'll tell hubby and he can watch the game with me.

According to an email that came in late last night, our den mother is doing fine. :)
Quote:
She was first in this morning at 8:30 or so and was out by 1:30. ..... They put the mechanical valve in, along with a temporary pacemaker. However, her heart isn't using the pacemaker at all - it's using the new valve all on it's own, so that appears to be a really good sign. .... She's still unconscious, though, and probably will be until at least tomorrow......

It sounds like she will be able to test the new parts on Sunday when the Black Hawks beat the Red Wings. :hockey:

gekkogecko 04-05-2008 10:21 AM

Yay for the working parts.

phtphtphtphtphtphtpht on the Blackhawks.

osuche 04-05-2008 12:57 PM
