Scotzoidman---I agree. It may sound stupid but in the old "motor-
cycle"lifestyle;your buddies;were the guys that if they rode by and
saw 20guys kicking your ass.They would stop and help you;
knowing that a win;was impossible; but that way there would be
10guys kicking yours and 10 kicking theirs. To them that was
preferable to 20 kicking yours. They did that because they knew
that you would do the same thing for them. You paid your dues and after that they would do anything for you.As you say--
Anything excepy homosexuality.That was a "NO-No"all around!

Getting back to the subject at hand...

Was anyone ever successful at removing Dobbydog? I checked and he's on my buddy list too.

Irish 01-19-2002 08:27 PM

Hotgirl4u2nite---No!!! I've tried everyway that I can think of to
delete"dobbydog"from my buddy list but it is still there. When I
click on the name;I get a" no profile because the person isn't registered "awnser! Irish
P.S.It doesn't matter but it does irritate me.

MilkToast 01-19-2002 08:49 PM

when I added a valid user to my buddy list the "dobbydog" entry went away on its own and when I removed everyone from the list the entry came back. Looks like it is a place holder if you don't have any one on the list... it's a good dog... it's trying to keep y'all company :)

Moral

Get a buddy and lose the dog.

I guess that I'm showing my ignorance;but;just what does a
"buddy list"do?Everyone sees your replies to threads anyway.
If you want to say something to an individual person;you e-mail
them or send them a PM.I guess what I'm saying is that I don't
understand the purpose of a buddy list! Irish
P.S.Ignorance is bliss.Maybe that's why I'm so happy!

Irish,
the point of the buddy list is that when you log into the message board and go to your "user CP" you can see if anyone on your list is actually logged in... that way you could send them a PM or chat with them knowing that they are logged in.

A lot of folks here have their profile set to not show when they are on-line (i.e. logged into the message board) so in those cases it would be of no value to have that person in your buddy list.

I would say that this is more and more common as the younger generation becomes more and more wired in... when I got going, internet connectivity was only e-mail and FTP sites... but now it is all chat boards, instant messaging, web pages, and anything else that comes to mind. When it comes to this stuff I should be the one that is called the "old fart" as I was into in the days of the 1200baud modem (at least it was not a 300baud).

hope that helps... :) -NY

Irish 01-20-2002 02:38 PM

n_play02---Thanks.It would not do me much good;as;I don't chat.
When it comes to which #value of a modem;I don't know what you are talking about;so maybe it's me that should be called the
old fart!Don't worry" oldfart."We know that there is truly only one
oldfart! Irish
