Not getting up in arms, but I really wish it would be acknowledged by the media that it's not JUST the Catholic church that has a problem with ministers taking advantage of their members.:mad:

Sugarsprinkles---I agree that it's not just the Catholic Church;but;
as I told my mother when she said the same thing-"Since when do;two wrongs;make a right?" Irish
P.S.It's time for the coverups to cease.Many of the "victims"are
mentally screwed up for the rest of their lives!

legend 04-26-2002 10:21 AM

maybe this could become a new thread?

Irish 04-26-2002 11:19 AM

My way of handeling;the many;things that bother me,religion,
politics,my alcoholism,my diabetic condition,ageing,my grandsons
autism,abuse,violence,etc.,is to joke about them.If I don't do that;
I;get an ulcer over something that I can do nothing about.This helps no one(including myself)so that is the way I handle things.If
this offends anyone;I'm sorry!Maturity has tought me that there is
no sense to getting pissed off; at something;that you cannot change! Irish

legend 04-26-2002 11:30 AM

no offence Irish....in fact I agree with you....but I think this could be a good topic of discussion deserving of it's own thread

Irish 04-26-2002 11:36 AM

Legend---I would start a thread on this subject but I would just
get flustered! Irish

legend 04-26-2002 11:38 AM

well i would start one, but nobody like my threads.....

Irish 04-26-2002 11:49 AM

Legend---You can't go thru life worrying about what other people
like.Most of the time you're wrong anyway!Have at it.If people don't like it;they won't respond.They might have no views on the
subject;anyway. Irish
P.S.Nothing ventured;nothing gained!

legend 04-26-2002 11:54 AM

oh, did i forget to say don't take me seriously most of the time....i musta left that one off

Agreed, but I'm not saying two wrongs make it right. I'd just like the problem to be universally exposed...so that it can be cleaned up wherever it occurs. The way it's being covered right now makes it look as though it's a "Catholic" problem when it's more correctly a "clergy" problem.

I think the most boring job i've ever had was a housekeeper/cleaner in a big firm. I had to get there early enough and get the place clean before the the rest of the community did. Pretty weird ha!!

My worst job was working at Burger King, but there aren't always a lot of options when your a military spouse and you have to take what you can get!

BamaKyttn 04-28-2002 06:44 PM

my first job was at a boarding kennel, I got to scoop up dog poop, got fired cuz the owner refused (no pun intended) to have the grass cut so it hid the excrement

Prophet Reality 04-28-2002 07:17 PM

My weirdest job was working at a porn store, with video booths, that was locted between two strip clubs. Except for the cleaning of the video booths, I actually liked the job a lot. Got to know the strippers a bit and had a whole drawer of free passes into both strip clubs.
