I've had strange experiences of predicting future events. Sometimes in dreams, and once, when I was a very young child (about 6 or 7) in a story I wrote for school which described exactly this event several years before it happened. My mother only realised years after the event when she found an old school book of mine with the story in it.

I also predicted the very large tree in front of my parents' house coming down in high winds. When I warned my mum I was told 'Oh no that tree will never come down. It's been there long before us and it'll be there long after us too'. A few years later one of its limbs came down in high winds and crushed a caravan and a car. Once it was stripped of its branches and the main trunk that fell was taken away it weighed 2 tons.

Most recently, I dreamt of my Grandmother scaling a hill to reach a beautiful cottage with a lovely garden and a stunning view of the hillside. My mum and I helped her up (as she's very infirm these days) and she was very tired but incredibly peaceful when she reached the top. I awoke and phoned my mum to go check on her. She was (and still is) fine, but I have this weird feeling now that when the time eventually comes, that's where she will go and I'll know that she's safe and happy in the most beautiful place I've ever seen.

Oldfart 09-09-2007 04:40 AM

OK, who just thought that?

PantyFanatic 09-09-2007 11:49 AM

Everyone that can levitate, raise my hand.

Mae 09-09-2007 05:25 PM

PF...how many times has it slapped you now? :jester:

And a "Hiya" back atcha Lixy. Hope all has been well. :)

Mae 09-09-2007 06:01 PM

Had an experience with my grandmother. We held her 90th birthday party at my house. She was using a cane at the time, as her back had really been bothering her. I was standing behind her and held my hand about 4 inches from her spine and moved my hand up and down the area. She didn't know I was behind her. She just "felt something", she told me. She turned around quickly and saw what I was doing. She grabbed my hand and it was glowing bright red. Never happened before or since then. It took her awhile before she wanted to speak to me again. But, her back didn't bother her for awhile. :)

I can't help noticing that the only serious affirmative responses are from the females.

Just an observation, no offense or defense intended...

Maybe just a sign that intuitive thinking has its place in the world as well.

babybunny 09-10-2007 02:23 PM

We are more in touch with our "feelings". ;) Hehe.

Mae 09-11-2007 01:27 PM

I noticed that, too, Scotzoid. I'm guessing that sometimes folks use humor to deal with subject that they are uncomfortable with?

scotzoidman 09-11-2007 03:59 PM

I'm not uncomfortable with the subject, just very skeptical...my wife claims to have had several experiences with relatives that have just passed, including a moment after my mother died when Mrs Zoid claimed to have heard her say "Take care of my boys..."

Myself, I 'd like to believe that I could communicate with the departed...got a few things to get off my chest ;)

Mae 09-14-2007 02:03 PM

Interesting about Mrs. Zoid, Scotts. That can be an altering "moment" for one's thoughts. And, I can understand your skepticism. Some of the more prominent psychics have fallen back on theatrics. That one show from England, "Most Haunted" I think it's called; bills itself as entertainment. That keeps them from being debunked or from attempting to concentrate on building their skills. Many psychics or mediums fall back on reading body language and facial expressions. You'd be amazed at what you give away when you think you are perfectly still. One thing I do believe...if you truly have the gift, you should not charge money or expect remuneration of any kind for what you do. It can taint the gift. I figure this is what has happened to those that charge upwards of $300 for a reading. I find that outrageous and exploitive of human emotions. I'd better step off the soapbox, now. :)

BTW...this all just my own humble opinion. No offense intended towards anyone. :)

Mae 09-15-2007 09:39 PM

Has anyone ever met another human being where the hair literally stood up on the back of your neck and on your arms? Was it a good feeling or a "Get outta there!" feeling?

Lilith 09-15-2007 10:00 PM

I "read" people immediately. I have met people who I feel have horrible energy.

Does it have to be 'hair'?

Fangtasia 09-15-2007 10:54 PM

*LOL*

Yep had some people give off 'bad' vibes

I certainly WISH some of my dreams would come true *LOL*...not many do though unfortunately!! (and thankfully fortunately!!)

scotzoidman 09-15-2007 11:08 PM

No hair raising, & no voices, but once I did have a sense that I should not go into that building...I was job hunting, & desparate, but something told me that I would regret walking in & asking for a job app...later I got a decent job, & told my new supe about the other place...he told me that my feeling was dead on, he had wasted the best years of his life in that very bldg...

Oldfart 09-16-2007 03:44 AM

I have met women where other things have stood up. That's the spirit.

Loulabelle 09-16-2007 06:13 AM

I've definitely met people whom immediately felt uncomfortable with. One person in particular whom I would never have trusted with children. Possibly horribly unfair to him, but I just didn't like the vibe he gave off.

Having said that, none of them have been really 'psychic' feelings, just usual human reactions to people who aren't socially competent or who just seem suspicious to me. In other words, pretty much the average human response to any/all politicians!

Mae 09-17-2007 04:24 PM

PF...I believe there is hair around there.

OF...You and PF do think alike.

Loulabelle...I understand. I've met some people who look and seem fine, but something about them made my hair stnad on end.

Scotzoid...That's great! Your instincts must be pretty sharp.

Mae 09-18-2007 10:13 PM

I found my small deck of tarot cards. I used to use a regular deck of playing cards for readings years and years ago. Kind of rusty at this kind of thing. A good psychic, many years ago, told me I would do well to look into a bowl of water or still water. Hopefully not face first? Anyway, I may have a go at this when I have some time to myself. (Like that will happen.) Anyone else out there use anything to focus your mind? (Yes, I realize that leaves the answer possibilities wide open.)

I can strongly relate, spiritualist "John Edwards" has nothing on me or my grown daughter, lol, we dont need to physicaly touch an individual, but be present with them.Sometimes we feel it more a curse, than a gift,Strange stuff comes across, Unspoken, but far more telling than words, with some people it comes thru so strong, that when retold to that person, we have to dial it back some, because it tends to freak them out. We compare the "vibe" more like each person is their own "radio station" some stations signal is stronger than others, and some stations dont come in at. Intuition ,gut feeling, vibe,or whatever you want to call it,is a perception everyone has,its just a little more developed in some more than others. And in closing, the vibe not to leave the children with a person that gives you an UNCOMFORTABLE feeling, is ALWAYS dead on, TRUST THAT VIBE, child protection is always the strongest signal,NEVER ignore it,thank you,,,Now that I've bored and disappointed those looking for sexual content, remember, expand your mind, knowledge is power, use it wisely, A MIND fuck,is the best fuck, lol, be kind to one another,,,Crazeee outtt ;)***

Lilith 09-22-2007 07:28 AM

I like the "radio station" analogy. I can clearly understand that!

CrazeeeWhorse 09-22-2007 09:43 AM

Lilith, you are the first to get it, thank you, I also wonder if "Brain Waves" can be unknowingly sent or recieved between people, and if so is that the explenation of "Mind Reading" or "Telepathy"??? Brain Waves,,,Radio Waves?? Brain Waves do have a traceable freguency range, low on the megahertz scale I believe,,anybody else heard of such mental activities?

PantyFanatic 09-22-2007 12:08 PM

*That's a big 10-32 for you good buddy.* :D

When I was home-studying electronics, mumblty-sumpin years ago, & simultaniously read an article about how brain waves are just low-wattage electro-magnetic impulses, I had an epiphany about the possibility that in some extreme circumstances it might be possible that brain waves could travel as radio signals do, & that someone "tuned" to the right frequency might pick them up. Beyond that, it seems that hard evidenciary proof (as opposed to annecdotal evidence) that it happens in fact has been hard to come by...

CrazeeeWhorse 09-23-2007 03:07 AM

Tuner or Tunee?

Rhiannon 09-23-2007 11:35 AM

I believe i am a little psychic. my dad has been dead for 20 years and yet at times in my life he comes to visit to let me he is there. I could feel his prescence at my wedding to my hubby letting me know he was happy for me.

When we adopted our daughter. He came and talked to her. I could hear a conversation going on in the room and when i tried to peek in. The floors squeaked and when i got there she was there alone. We were all curled up and asked her "if Grandpa Jack" came and talked to her and she said yes.

I think there is soo much of time and space we know nothing about. .. sometimes people are too narrow minded to realize or to afraid to accept it. I think everyone has alittle part of the gift but some people squash it down as a hunch of just a feeling and not something more

I have had several experiences in my life through dreams and visions. They are too personal to share here, but I do think there's gift there that I haven't really understood.

That I give credence to.

Mae 09-28-2007 03:56 PM

I'm in alignment. :D

scotzoidman 09-28-2007 10:20 PM

Great! Now we only have to rotate & balance, & you're ready to go...

Mae 09-29-2007 11:09 PM

scotzoidman 09-29-2007 11:24 PM

I give it my best word-play, & all I get is :rolleyes2

Was really hoping for a stronger reaction...

Mae 09-29-2007 11:49 PM

Scotzoid...my profoundest apologies. Questions abound. Rotate where? On what? How many times? Shall I balance precariously while I'm there? Or, just say the hell with it and go with the flow? (As you can see...I was trying to save you response time. :D )

Mae 10-17-2007 12:19 PM

Perhaps my response was a bit over the top? No offense intended, Scotzoid.

On a different topic...What do you think of the Psychic/Paranormal TV programs? Any favorites? Any that seem real? Do you think that psychics/mediums/clairvoyants should be in the media?

fzzy 10-17-2007 06:15 PM

Well, I’ve had various types of these experiences throughout my life….

I’ve had a few dreams where they will happen, but not for years afterward, and the strange thing is that there is nothing remotely interesting about those events, just day to day type of stuff, but the feeling of déjà vu is very intense.

I often “feel” it when something is about to happen, I don’t necessarily know what specifically is going to happen, but usually have a general idea when I get the feeling.

It’s almost a joke between me and several of my friends and family members that I always call just when they need to hear from me (or sometimes just need to hear from someone in general) … I’ve heard it SO many times when I say hello …. “oh, you’ve called just when I needed to talk to you.”

Also, several times I will see "movement" going on around me a lot (where there is nothing to be moving). When this happens I know that someone close to me (or to someone I'm very close to) is going to die. The first time it happened to me was when I was in my mid-20's and it FREAKED me out ... I think in that week or so before the person died, I called all my friends and family to make sure they were ok, it turned out that (that time) it was the grandfather of a very dear friend ... I had never met the grandfather, but as soon as he passed, I stopped seeing the movement around me ... I didn't hear about who it was that had died until a day or two after that, but I did make note of the time that I stopped having all that movement around me and it was within minutes of his death. It has been the same story with several other such occurrences as well.

I also have very good "intuition" about people, who to trust or not to trust -- and it has been very accurate for me.

The other weird thing that has happened a couple of times ... with people that I am VERY TIGHTLY bonded to emotionally .... I have felt pains hit me when they have had accidents ... the pain I feel is in exactly the same place as where they are hurt and hits me at approximately the same time as they have the accident, etc. I usually don't find out about who it was for at least several hours.. that is a very weird feeling!

If she is on I am forced to watch http://www.lisawilliamsmedium.com/

fzzy 10-17-2007 07:19 PM

I'm with you Lilith, I love watching her show ... it's just such a nice mixture of her kind of quirky personality, caring/gentle manner and of course the english accent never hurts either! :)

None taken...all was in the cause of me being in a playful & smartass mood, & your response was taken in the same manner...

The psychics seem to be taking over CourtTV these days, & for me, hold no real entertainment value...maybe my suspension of disbelief can only be pushed so far...give me the hard science of "Forensic Files" anyday...

Psychic crime scene investigations get bypassed by me about as quickly as the UFO shows on the History Channel (how do they rate as "history" when no UFO sightings have ever been reliably confirmed?)
